Cara Delevingne has confirmed for the first time that she and Amber Heard were romantically involved after Heard's split from Johnny Depp, putting years of speculation to rest during a candid appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast.
Speaking to Louis Theroux, the model and actress addressed long-standing rumors about her connection to Heard, which became a topic of public interest during Heard's divorce from Depp. While Depp was said to have been suspicious of their friendship, Delevingne insisted there was no romance while the marriage was still intact.
Instead, she revealed their relationship began after the divorce, offering a clear timeline that separates her involvement from the end of Heard and Depp's marriage.
Theroux raised the subject, saying: "[Depp] was driven crazy by the idea that Amber might be sleeping with you."
Delevingne explained that the speculation stemmed from their work together on London Fields, which also featured Depp. "It's because we did a movie together, and it was called London Fields. He was also doing the movie. I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy. Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose."
When Theroux challenged her choice of words by asking, "You suppose?", Delevingne laughed off the hesitation before clarifying: "No, I don't suppose. I know. Yeah."
Theroux then suggested the word "entanglement," prompting Delevingne to ask: "What is the word?" After Theroux admitted, "Well, I know what an entanglement is," and described it as "a relatively short-lived liaison or series of physical encounters," Delevingne responded: "We were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose. But she was also entangled with other people."
When Theroux replied, "Well, with Elon," Delevingne simply answered: "There you go."
Following the conclusion of her legal battle with Depp, Heard relocated to Madrid, Spain, where she has largely stepped away from public life and is focused on raising her children.
The actress is now a mother of three. She welcomed her first daughter, Oonagh Paige, via surrogacy in April 2021 before announcing the news publicly several months later. In May 2025, she welcomed twins, a daughter named Agnes and a son named Ocean.
Heard has never publicly identified the father of her children. Speaking previously about becoming a parent, she said she wanted to have a child "on my own terms" and has referred to herself on social media as both the "mom and dad."
She has also spoken warmly about her adopted home. Asked by local reporters whether she planned to remain in Spain, Heard replied (via People): "Yes, I hope so. Yes, I love living here."

A psychologist has testified that Amber Heard was never really into her relationship with Tesla boss and multi-billionaire Elon Musk.
Heard is currently embroiled in a $50 million defamation trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, who claims she wrecked his career and reputation by alleging to be a domestic abuse survivor in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post. The Aquaman star, meanwhile, is countersuing for $100 million and cited several occasions on which she claims Depp assaulted her.
Among the accusations that the embattled exes have hurled at each other are Depp's claims that Heard cheated on him with SpaceX founder Musk, who she dated publicly in the months following their split.
On Wednesday, forensic psychologist Dr. Dawn Hughes shed new light on Heard and Musk's romance, suggesting that her heart was never really in the relationship, Insider reports.
Dr. Hughes was called to the witness stand by Heard's lawyers, where she told the court that her evaluation of the actor led her to believe she had been the victim of intimate partner abuse.
Later on during cross-examination by Depp's team, notes from Heard's 29 hours evaluation with Dr. Hughes were presented to the court. One addressed Heard and Musk's relationship, explaining how it started after the two met at the 2016 Met Ball which took place just weeks after she and Depp decided to separate.
"I was heartbroken. My soul was dead. Felt nothing then," Heard told Dr. Hughes about her romance with Musk, per the notes. She went on to tell the psychologist that they called it quits in March 2018.
This is not the first time it has been implied that Heard used the Tesla boss as a placeholder boyfriend.
Several days ago, jurors were shown a text exchange between the actor and her former agent, Cristian Carino, in which they openly discussed the fact that she never loved Musk.
"You weren't in love with him and you told me a thousand times you were just filling space," Carino texted Heard. She responded: "I know, but I wanted time to grieve and recover in my own time."
Elon Musk once responded to outlandish claims that he had a threesome with two of Hollywood's most well-known names.
The Tesla CEO and founder has a storied dating history, having been married twice while also dating several celebrities over the years.
Musk, a father of at least 14, according to unconfirmed reports, most recently dated Australian actress Natasha Bassett following a long-term relationship with artist Grimes.
He shares three children with the latter, including the controversially named X Æ A-12, born in May 2020.
Pronounced "X Ash A Twelve," he is the first child the couple had before they reportedly split up in 2022.
However, Musk also notably dated actress Amber Heard after her messy divorce from Johnny Depp, which would result in one of the most highly-covered celebrity court cases in recent memory.
As part of a defamation lawsuit brought by Depp against the Sun in 2021, a deposition by Josh Drew, who was the ex-husband of Heard's best friend, claimed that Musk was involved in a three-way.
He claimed that Heard had allegedly taken part in a threesome with Musk and Delevingne while Depp and Heard were still married.
Musk responded in an official statement to Page Six, saying: "Cara and I are friends, but we’ve never been intimate, she would confirm this.
“Also, I wish to confirm again that Amber and I only started going out about a month after her divorce filing.
"I don’t think I was ever even in the vicinity of Amber during their marriage," he claimed.
The billionaire claimed that he had only started dating Heard after she had separated from the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, between 2016 and 2018.
He added in his statement to the publication: “I would recommend that everyone involved bury the hatchet and move on,
“Life is too short for such extended negativity. Nobody is going to say, after it’s all over, that they wished the court battle had lasted longer!"
Musk, 54, has been in headlines recently, after commenting on Sydney Sweeney's breasts during an appearance on the All-In podcast.
In a video shared by RadarOnline, viewers can see the moment a conversation about business and technology took a turn when Musk removed his sweatshirt and joked: "You thought Sydney Sweeney's boobs were great. Have you seen mine?"
He then tried to joke: "Grade A moobs... I should say there's no such thing as grade A moobs."
Social media users weren't impressed by his comments, but these aren't his first comments on Sweeney's appearance.
Back in December, following the Euphoria star's attendance at the Los Angeles premiere of The Housemaid in a white gown, the SpaceX founder reacted to a red carpet video of the 28-year-old.
He replied with an AI-generated meme focused on her cleavage, with the image showing a smiling woman with large breasts under the caption: "What it looks like.
He then followed this up with a second image showing a battered spine labeled: "How it feels.
"Can't be easy."
Amber Heard said in court yesterday that Johnny Depp cheated on her with another woman just after they had tied the knot.
On Thursday, the Aquaman actor, 36, continued testifying in the $50 million defamation trial that her ex-husband, Depp, brought against her because she described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a December 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post.
Heard did not name her 58-year-old former partner in the piece, but his legal team claims his career took a massive hit nonetheless.
During her second day on the witness stand at Fairfax, Virginia, Heard told the court that Depp had an "on-and-off" relationship with a woman, who he often messaged.
Per The Independent, she said: “I found his iPad open, he had been texting someone with it open, he had passed out, and I saw he was texting a woman he had a relationship with on and off at the beginning of our relationship so I recognized the name but the date was right after the wedding.
“I saw he had gone to her house right after we got married, like upon touching down in Los Angeles, I think it was the next day he went to this woman’s house, who he [had] a sexual relationship with.”
Elsewhere in her explosive testimony, Heard accused Depp of assaulting her on a number of occasions, including once with a liquor bottle.
She said of the alleged incident: “I’ve never been so scared in my entire life.” Heard went on to say that Depp was on top of her and that she tried telling him he was “really hurting me”.
“I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t get through to him, I couldn’t get up... I don’t know what happened next,” Heard said, before telling the jury that he then proceeded to sexually assault her with a liquor bottle.
“I could feel this pressure on my pubic bone,” she continued, saying that it “looked like” Depp was “punching” her, adding that there were “broken bottles, broken glass” all over the room.
Heard said she avoided moving “because I didn’t know if it was broken, I didn’t know if the bottle that he had inside me was broken”.
Amber Heard had asked her former talent agent to share apologetic notes she'd written to Johnny Depp over a year after they called it quits, the jury was told at the former couple's defamation trial.
As part of a pre-taped deposition, Christian Carino - a talent agent who had previously represented both the Aquaman actress and Pirates of the Caribbean star for Creative Artists Agency - shared alleged details pertaining to the ongoing case.
According to text messages between Heard and Carino, the actress felt remorseful following their split, People reports.
Carino, who described himself as being a close friend and confidant of Heard at the time, was asked about text messages he exchanged with her in August 2017.
For some background info, Depp and Heard, who met while working together on the 2011 film The Rum Diary, tied the knot in February 2015. Heard filed for divorce in May 2016 and requested a domestic violence restraining order against the Fantastic Beasts actor less than a week later.
Carino and Heard's texts were read out loud by Depp's attorneys.
Heard had written to Carino about Depp: "I've written so many notes. Can you give him one? I don't know how or where to start. There's no way to begin and all I have to say, but I have so many. Finally I am single, clear in my heart and mind. I just want him to know I love him and that I am sorry."
Carino said in his testimony that he "believed" Heard was trying to reconcile with Depp at the time. Heard's romance with Tesla CEO Elon Musk would ultimately end that same month in August 2017.
In a text sent to Carino in September 2017, Heard shared: "God I miss him," referring to Depp. Another message she penned from June 2018 read: "I text him happy birthday."
After her fling with Musk, Heard also began seeing Bianca Butti during 2020, and she welcomed her first child, a baby girl, as a single mother in April 2021, saying she was little Oonagh Paige's "mom and dad".
Depp, 58, is suing Heard, 36, for defamation over a Washington Post article she wrote in December 2018 about her experience with domestic abuse.
Amber Heard has admitted she did "horrible regrettable things" in her relationship with Johnny Depp - but has maintained that she "always told the truth".
The Aquaman star reflected on her tumultuous time with Depp in her first sit-down interview since their explosive defamation trial against one another last month.
In a conversation with NBC News' Savannah Guthrie, Heard gave even further insight into her relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.
While Heard has shared written statements on social media, this is the first time she has spoken about the court case in person since the jury announced that they had sided against her, and awarded her ex-husband over $10 million in damages.
"I did do and say horrible, regrettable things throughout my relationship. I behaved in horrible, almost unrecognizable to myself ways. So much regret," she told Guthrie in part one of the NBC special.
She went on to claim that she had been honest about the uglier side of the relationship, saying: "I have freely, openly and voluntarily talked about what I did. I talked about the horrible language, I talked about being pushed to the extent where I didn't even know the difference between right and wrong."
"I will always continue to feel like I was a part of this, like I was the other half of this relationship - because I was. And it was ugly and could be very beautiful," she continued, adding: "It was very, very toxic. We were awful to each other. I made a lot of mistakes, a lot of mistakes. I have always told the truth."
At one point, Guthrie recalled Depp saying that he was never physically abusive to Heard, and asked the actress if this was a lie, to which Heard responded: "Yes it is."
The 36-year-old went on to address claims that both she and Depp were violent in their relationship, claiming she only ever acted reactively. "I never had to instigate it. I responded to it. When you are living in violence it becomes normal. As I testified to, you have to adapt," she said.
Part two of the NBC interview is scheduled to air on Wednesday (June 15) on the network's Today show. The full-length interview will be released two days later on Friday (June 17) on Dateline NBC.
