Amber Heard has wrapped up her latest acting project and is celebrating with fans by sharing a heartfelt message and a joyful selfie surrounded by flowers.

The 39-year-old actress, originally from Texas, recently returned to the U.S. to take on a major role in Spirit of the People, a new play by renowned playwright Jeremy O. Harris. Heard starred as Genevieve, alongside a talented cast including Ato Blankson-Wood, Zachary Booth, Brandon Flynn, and Amandla Jahava.

Heard’s performance in the play, which ran for three weekends at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts, earned high praise from critics and audiences alike. Vanity Fair’s Juan A. Ramirez described her portrayal of Genevieve as “eloquent and beautiful,” writing that she “embodies the fragility and resilience of a classic Tennessee Williams heroine.”

The production itself received glowing reviews. Naveen Kumar of The Washington Post called it “rich with compelling insights on contemporary anxieties,” while The New York Times critic Jesse Green humorously gave it “five out of five beefcake stars.”

Playwright Jeremy O. Harris noted that Spirit of the People includes both English and Spanish dialogue, describing the bilingual nature of the play as a personal challenge, per Vanity Fair. Heard’s move to Madrid last year gave her an edge, as the bilingual structure played to her strengths.

Heard first announced her involvement in the play back in June via Instagram, writing that she was officially entering her “theatre era.” Now that the run has concluded, she has returned to social media to express her gratitude.

Posting a selfie from her dressing room, Heard smiled in front of several colorful bouquets. She wrote: “Thank you to all of my fans and supporters for making this already unforgettable weekend so much more beautiful. The flowers won’t last forever but the memories of all the love and support I received through this will.”

Fans quickly filled the comments with messages of support and congratulations. “Congratulations on an incredibly successful run with your play! It was an honor and a privilege to see you perform,” one fan wrote.

Another added: “We love and support you. Keep your head up high.”

A third commented: “I wish I could see the play again! You were absolutely incredible in it. I hope you have a great final weekend with the festival!”

With rave reviews and a warm response from fans, Heard’s return to the stage has proven to be a triumphant chapter in her evolving career.
