Dax Shepard has said that he will not be policing his daughters' sex lives in the future.
The actor and podcaster, 46, shares two daughters - eight-year-old Lincoln and six-year-old Delta - with fellow actor, 41-year-old Kristen Bell.
He and his wife are famously outspoken about the way that they choose to raise their daughters, with the pair having revealed recently that they only wash their kids once they begin to "stink".
Now, on the most recent episode of Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert, the Parenthood star spoke to guest Gwyneth Paltrow about how he and Bell plan to approach the topic of sex with their daughters.
He said: "I do not want my daughters to have sex so they can get approval from somebody, but if my daughters are horny and want to have sex, that was my favorite activity, remains my favorite activity, I'd be lying if I said I was in any way anti-that activity. I'm anti-getting esteemed from that activity, but that's it."
The actor also explained how Bell made sure to emphasize the importance of consent in her conversations with their children about intimacy.
Shepard said: "She says, 'And then the woman takes the man's penis and puts it in her vagina. So right away it’', you're in charge of this, you will decide to put this in your vagina, not the man puts his penis in your vagina."

Back in 2018, Bell said in an interview with WTF With Marc Maron that her daughters aren't particularly interested in learning about sex.
She recalled: "They've asked about sex before and Dax says, 'Well, there's a penis, there's a vagina and there's an ovum and there's ejaculate.' And they're like, 'Can I have some juice?!' They're just off of it. They don't care."
When her daughters are old enough, the Veronica Mars star said she hopes her kids will enjoy a fulfilling and healthy sex life.
"Sex is wonderful," Bell said. "I want my kids to have sex. I want them to have good, healthy, positive, happy, wild sex."
