Dolly Parton has recreated her iconic 1978 Playboy cover to celebrate her husband's 78th birthday.
The 'Jolene' singer, 75, has been married to Carl Thomas Dean since 1966, and she wanted to do something special to celebrate his 78th birthday.
She took to social media on Tuesday (July 20) to share a video of herself wishing her husband a happy birthday while dressed in a black bustier, a bow tie, and bunny ears to recreate her now-iconic Playboy cover.
"Remember, some time back, I said I was going to pose in Playboy magazine when I was 75? Well, I'm 75, and they don't have a magazine anymore," Parton said. "But my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy, so I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy."
"He still thinks I'm a hot chick after 57 years," she added, "and I'm not going to try and talk him out of that."
Check out Dolly's video below:Parton was the first female country artist to appear on the cover of Playboy in 1978, and while she didn't pose nude for the famous magazine, it was still considered a risky move given its reputation, as per the Huffington Post.
Parton told 60 Minutes Australia that she was the one to suggest the idea for the cover to Playboy, but she had no idea if its staff - and crucially Hugh Hefner himself - would approve it.
"I'm kind of cartoonish and cartoons don't really age that much," she said at the time. "When I'm 90, I'll probably look about the same way. Just thicker makeup, bigger hair!"
Despite Dolly making a splash in Playboy all those years ago, her career is continuing to go from strength to strength, and she is releasing her new single 'Sent from Above' on July 27.
Not only this, but the Huffington Post reports that last week, it was announced that she'd also received an Emmy nomination for her 2020 holiday movie, Netflix's Christmas in the Square.
Dolly's husband has rarely been photographed with the singer, and he generally prefers to stay out of the spotlight despite his wife's global fame.
In fact, The Independent reports that he has only ever seen her perform once!

Dolly Parton is one of the most celebrated country singer-songwriters of all time. But as much as her famous tunes - namely '9 to 5', Jolene and 'Islands in the Stream' - made her the star that she is, so did her undeniable status as a sex symbol.
Known for her tiny waist and large chest, there's no denying the singer's striking appearance. It was the case back in 1978 when she graced the cover of Playboy, and it's certainly still the case now.
And speaking of her '70s Playboy shoot, well, apparently the now-74-year-old star hopes to recreate the famous cover for her 75th birthday.
This is the moment legendary country singer Dolly Parton says she wants to recreate her 1978 Playboy shoot for her 75th birthday:

Dolly said as much on Australia's 60 Minutes show, revealing that if the magazine execs would "go for it", she would be very keen to do the shoot.
"I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again!' she says in the clip above. "I thought it would be such a hoot. If they'll go for it. I don't know if they will." Dolly also said that she'd be up for wearing the same revealing bunny suit.

"I could probably use it. Maybe. Boobs are still the same!' she joked, per Mail Online, adding, "I have my own look. I'm kind of cartoonish and cartoons don't really age that much. When I'm 90, I'll probably look about the same way. Just thicker makeup, bigger hair!"
"I always say good lighting, good makeup, and good doctors - and a good attitude don't hurt either," she continued in the interview.
She also said she plans to keep singing for a while, adding: "Well, I don't plan to retire. I just turned 74."

Dolly Parton has shared a moving new tribute to her late husband Carl Dean following his death at the age of 82.
The country icon, 79, had been married to Dean for almost 60 years, having met when she was just 18 years old and he was 23.
The pair largely kept their relationship out of the limelight, with the 'Jolene' star occasionally giving fans a small insight into their enduring love story.
News of Dean's death was announced on Parton's social media after he died in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 3.
She shared a statement at the time, telling fans: "Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can't do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. The family asks for privacy during this difficult time."
Now, Parton has shared a further post thanking her fans and loved ones for the outpouring of support she received after losing her soulmate.
She wrote: "This is a love note to family, friends and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you’ve sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl.
"I can’t reach out personally to each of you but just know it has meant the world to me. He is in God’s arms now and I am OK with that."
She ended her message by referencing one of the most famous songs she's written: "I will always love you."
Parton also posted her song 'If You Hadn't Been There' with a sweet cover photo of her and Dean in their younger days, writing: "Carl and I fell in love when I was 18 and he was 23, and like all great love stories, they never end.
"They live in memory and in song, and I dedicate this to him. ‘If You Hadn’t Been There’."
The couple famously met at a laundromat when she was 18 years old and got married in 1966.
Despite Parton's enormous fame, Dean largely stayed out of the limelight and let her shine, and very few photos of him exist publicly.
The singer allowed fans small glimpses into their personal life, including a cheeky snap of her surprising him for his 79th birthday in 2021 by dressing up in a Playboy bunny costume to recreate her famous cover shoot.
She revealed to The Project later that year that she'd done it to raise his spirits amid a period of ill health, explaining: "My husband has not been feeling well for quite a while, and I’ll do anything that I can to make him feel better and lift his spirits and everything. He’s always thought I was beautiful."
Parton also joked about the fact that people sometimes didn't believe her husband existed due to his desire to avoid fame.
She told the Associated Press in 1984: "A lot of people say there’s no Carl Dean, that he’s just somebody I made up to keep other people off me."
Dean, meanwhile, gave a rare interview in 2016, telling Entertainment Tonight of his memories of first meeting his wife.
He sweetly revealed: "My first thought was ‘I’m gonna marry that girl.’ My second thought was, ‘Lord she’s good lookin’.'
"And that was the day my life began. I wouldn’t trade the last 50 years for nothing on this earth."
Our thoughts remain with Parton and Dean's loved ones at this heartbreaking time.

Dolly Parton opened up about her relationship with her husband and what the pair do to make their love work.
The country singer might be one of the most famous women in the world, adored by many men and women alike, but her heart has always and will always remain with her husband Carl Dean.
After meeting outside their local laundrette in 1964 when she was 18 and he was 21, the couple immediately hit it off before tying the knot just two years later. Fast forward 56 years and the pair are still going strong, even while being in an "open relationship."
Now, I know what you're thinking - a typical open relationship involves sleeping with other people, right? Correct, but that's not the way Parton and Dean see it.
Instead, they're allowed to flirt with other people, but they will always come home to each other.
Writing about their set-up in her 2017 book 'Dolly on Dolly, Interviews and Encounters with Dolly Parton', the country singer wrote: "Men are my weakness. Short, fat, bald, or skinny — I've had crushes on some very unusual men but Carl knows I'll always come home and I'm not having sex with these people — I'm just flirting and having fun."
She continued: "He's not jealous and I'm not jealous of him. He knows I flirt. He flirts too. Yes, it's an open relationship, but not sexually and I would kill him if I thought he was doing that.
"He would shoot me too. At the end of the day we love each other madly," she added.
While the 'Jolene' hitmaker hardly shared much else about the intricacies of her relationship, in 2022 she gave us some details about how she keeps her marriage "spicy" during an interview with E! News.
"Every day, I put on some makeup and fix my hair because I think, 'Well, the whole world, I'm out here and everybody else sees me all dressed up, and I'm not going to just kind of go home and just flop on him,'" she told the outlet. "Nobody wants to make out with a slouch! It’s important to me that I look as good as I can."
"I think it kind of helps keep things spicy," she added.
The pair share no children together despite them being married for over five decades.
Speaking to Billboard, the country singer stated that they did want to have some little ones at one point in their relationship.
"When my husband and I were dating, and then when we got married, we just assumed we would have kids," she said. "We weren't doing anything to stop it. In fact, we thought maybe we would. We even had names if we did, but it didn't turn out that way."
She added: "God has a plan for everything. I think it probably was his plan for me not to have kids so everybody's kids could be mine."

Dolly Parton turns 78 today and she's celebrating it in style.
On January 19, the country music legend announced that she would be releasing new music with a deluxe version of her popular 'Rockstar' album.
Taking to Instagram to reveal the news, Parton posted a black screen with a special birthday message.
"Hey fans and friends, It’s my birthday so I’m going to give you a present!" she started.
She continued: "I’m releasing four never released songs for my birthday, to go with the Rockstar album, and a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album. I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you all have a happy birthday for me! LOL."
She concluded her message with a sweet note to her fans, before signing off: "Thanks for everything, Dolly."
Have a look at the full post below:In the caption, she also added: "Surprise! Stream 'Rockstar Deluxe' wherever you get your music," alongside a burning heart emoji.
Fans took to the comments to express their excitement at the news.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOLLY!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!!" wrote one user while another added: "Happy Birthday Dolly!!! You are a gift to us all!!"
A third also emphasized how much they loved the news, writing: "We can’t wait!! Happy birthday Dolly!"
The news comes just under a year after the star announced the album which consisted of 30 songs, a mixture of new tracks as well as some timeless covers.
"I'm so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar! I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure," she said in a press release at the time.
"I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I've enjoyed putting it together!" she added.
The album went on to be released in November and marked her first rock album as well as her 49th solo album, a massive milestone for the country star.
But with a career as extensive and as fulfilling as Parton's, you won't be surprised to know that she started her career very young back in 1959, before getting involved with a small Louisiana label, and Mercury Records in Nashville in 1962.
According to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which the singer was inducted into back in 1999, Parton first found national fame on The Porter Wagoner Show before embarking on a proper solo career, releasing number one hits such as 'Joshua' which was released in 1971, and then 'Jolene,' 'Love Is Like a Butterfly,' and 'I Will Always Love You" which were all released in 1974.
Since then, she continued on her journey, going from strength to strength to become the icon she is today.
Even her personal life became a wonderful source of joy for fans, as she broke down barriers with her decisions in her relationship.
After choosing not to have children with her long-time love Carl Dean, she also admitted that the pair are in an "open relationship" (well, their version of an open relationship), even despite the critics.
Speaking to Billboard, the country singer also added that the couple did want to have children at one point, but God had other plans.
"When my husband and I were dating, and then when we got married, we just assumed we would have kids," she said. "We weren't doing anything to stop it. In fact, we thought maybe we would. We even had names if we did, but it didn't turn out that way.
"God has a plan for everything. I think it probably was his plan for me not to have kids so everybody's kids could be mine," she added.
Happy birthday, Dolly! We wish you yet another year of happiness!
