It seems that engagement and marriage have been all over the internet lately. Obviously, the biggest wedding-related news involved the royal family, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's televised tying of the knot dominating the news for weeks afterwards (in fact, we're still talking about the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex).
Then there was the case of the 'smallest ring ever,' when one couple got unfairly mocked for their engagement announcement due to the size of the engagement ring. Jen Phanomrat and Leo Samanamud run a food blog and YouTube channel called Just Eat Life, with a romance going on between them for nearly a decade. Finally, Leo asked the big question - and Jen shared the happy moment on Instagram.
"9 years later," she wrote in the caption, "I said YES to my best friend!"
However, a lot of the comments that came in were pretty brutal, mocking the size of the ring even though Jen was perfectly happy with it. Once she finally responded to these comments, she shut the trolls down for good.
Now, the latest engagement news involves none other than Jennifer Lopez - although it's unclear whether there is more to this than a rumour at this point.
In February 2017, Lopez began dating the former New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez, and it seems like they're still going strong. On Thursday, J-Lo uploaded a photo of them both relaxing on the beach together in one particularly romantic shot, and some of her 76.5 million followers noticed something about the photo.
"It's the lil quiet moments that matter most," Lopez wrote in her caption, with over 1.4 million people liking the photo.
But did you notice the new addition to her attire? Here's a little zoom:
There were plenty of responses from fans who were absolutely certain this must be an engagement ring, which means that Lopez could be dropping a low-key announcement about their relationship.
"Wait. . I see a ring..." one commented. "Such a beautiful couple I really hope it's the engagement ring," another user wrote. "They belong together and wish them many years of happiness!!!"
J-Lo recently released the song 'El Anillo,' which translates from Spanish into English as 'The Ring'. It also includes the suspicious lyrics:
"You’ve given me so much that I’ve been thinking/I already have it all, but/When will I get the ring?"
When you look at the ring, it looks more on the decorative side of things than an engagement ring - but it's hard to tell. For all we know, this could be a wedding ring, and the couple have managed to evade all the paparazzi during their big day.
It's not too out of the ordinary for a celebrity couple to pull this off. After all, Cardi B recently shocked fans by revealing she has been married to Migos' Offset for months, without any of us being the wiser.
