Eminem's terrifying 9-word prediction about Trump a decade ago could finally be coming true - it's bad news
Nine years ago, Eminem made a startling nine-word prediction about President Donald Trump that could finally be coming true.
In a fiery 2017 freestyle rap at the BET Hip Hop Awards, the award-winning rapper - whose full name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III - warned about the potential consequences of the 79-year-old's leadership.
He called Trump, who was the 45th president at the time, 'a kamikaze who will probably cause a nuclear holocaust,' and slammed his online habits, attack on NFL national anthem protests, and his lack of focus on important issues like Puerto Rico or gun reform.
"But this is his form of distraction, plus he gets an enormous reaction when he attacks the NFL," Eminem said.
"All these horrible tragedies and he's bored and would rather cause a Twitter storm with the Packers."
The Not Afraid rapper also called Trump a 'racist 94-year-old grandpa' and compared his appearance to the Marvel Comics character 'The Thing.'
In addition to this, he shot down the president's plan for tax cuts that was revealed the year of his televised freestyle, questioning: "Then who's going to pay for his extravagant trips back and forth with his fam to his golf resorts and his mansions?"
Now, as Trump wages a war against Iran, the rapper's words seem even more relevant.
The president's military escalation in Iran has sparked fears that the conflict could escalate into something far more dangerous.
Trump Fabricates 'Lie' About Fallen Soldiers' Families in Iran Address
Amid the war, Trump came under fire for making false claims about what the families of fallen soldiers allegedly told him about the conflict.
In a recent address, he said the loved ones of the 13 service members killed in the ongoing U.S.-Israeli military operation in Iran had begged him to 'finish the job'.
"Every single one of the people, their loved ones said 'Please, sir, please finish the job,' every one of them. And we are going to finish the job," he asserted in his speech.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also previously shared this sentiment after privately meeting with the families of six service members.
However, Charles Simmons, father of Tech. Sgt. Tyler H. Simmons, who was killed in Iraq, publicly disputed the claim.
Simmons said he never encouraged the continuation of the war, telling NBC News: "I can’t speak for the other families.
"When he spoke to me, that was not something we talked about
Trump Threatens Escalation in Iran Conflict
In Trump's recent address to the nation, he vowed to 'hit [Iran] extremely hard over the next two to three weeks'.
"We will continue until our objectives are fully achieved. Thanks to the progress we’ve made, I can say we are on track to complete all of America’s objectives shortly, very shortly," he said, adding that "regime change was never our goal" but that "regime change has occurred because of their original leader’s death".
He also threatened to target the country's electric power plants if no agreement is reached.
"If no deal is reached, we are going to hit every one of their electric generating plants very hard, and probably simultaneously," Trump warned, cited by Al Jazeera.
In response to the president's statements, Iran said it will continue its resistance until the US faces 'inevitable and permanent humiliation, disgrace, regret, and surrender'.
Military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari added that the enemy 'must pay the price for the aggression they initiated against the honourable and Muslim nation of Iran.'
"Expect more crushing and devastating strikes from us in continuation of the severe blows you have already received," he concluded, per CNN.
