It's certainly true that we are all confronted with images of utter perfection on Instagram every day of the week. We are told what our bodies 'should' look like by companies trying to flog us products to fix problems that really aren't problems at all.
That's why it's refreshing when, amid all the #bodygoals and reminders to get one's beach body ready, people pop up to remind us that loving the skin we're in and accepting our own bodies is important.
And fans have been left stunned and in awe after Heather Graham took to Instagram to share a bikini picture to celebrate being back on the beach.

"Today feels like the first day of summer. Having a beach day with @princessodessa," the actress wrote.
Graham donned a white bikini for the snap, along with a chic over sized straw hat and sunglasses. The Austin Powers, Twin Peaks and Californication actress turned 50 back in January, but judging from fans' comments on her post, they could scarcely believe it.
"Why do you lie about your age? What are you, like 30-32??", wrote one fan.
[[imagecaption|| Credit: Instagram]]
"Wow! I just wanted to say how great you look, Heather. That’s the best 50 has ever looked," another added.

A third chimed in, "Wine and Heather are the two things that get better with age."

Back in March, Graham tweeted out a message to discuss how she was feeling during the coronavirus pandemic at the time;
"Is anyone else bored? I’m alternating between feeling freaked out, feeling bored and thinking it’s super relaxing and wonderful having nothing to do," she wrote.
The actress also tweeted out a message of support to the protests that are unfolding in the United States and across the world at the moment. "The peaceful protests are inspiring to me. People care and change is going to come," she said.
While it's true that many of us have spent January frantically trying to get back into some sort of shape following a Christmas of overindulging in just about anything edible or drinkable, it's got to be said that it's not easy to keep relentlessly working out over the cold winter months.
There's definitely something about January and February that just saps energy out of you, isn't there? Maybe it's the fact that it's the start of another new year, and you're trying so hard to not break your resolutions that you just end up exhausted. Maybe it's the freezing cold weather and early, dark nights.
Watch as Elizabeth Hurley shows off her "Ninja Skills" on the beach:
Whatever it is, it doesn't seem as though Liz Hurley is suffering the effects of the new year blip, as she's just posted a new bikini snap to Instagram looking just as toned as ever.
And fans couldn't get over just how youthful 54-year-old Liz Hurley looks, with many taking to the comments section to heap praise on the actress and model.
"You’re literally goals????? saw you on runaways, you look fantastic!!!" wrote one enthused follower, while another added "Making girls half your age look badd??????❤️❤️❤️??"
A third simply wrote, If it was for the sun I would swear you were a vampire all ageless and s**t??."
And fans couldn't stop commenting on how the actress seemingly hasn't aged a day over the intervening years, one wrote, "You literally don't age!!!! How why what ❤️?," while another said, "Still looks 29 How does she do it?!"
Basically, it's fair to say that Elizabeth Hurley's many, many fans are still taken aback on a daily basis by how great she looks. It looks as though the post was also an homage to Elizabeth Hurley Beach, which sells beachware, swimwear and accessories, since she hashtagged the business in her post.
There's no doubt that Ashley Graham is one of the world's best-known advocates for body positivity.
Ever since she joined Instagram, the supermodel has been a tireless advocate for self-love and self-care and has been doing her level best to try and convince her fans to appreciate their size, shape, or weight.
Ashley recently flaunted her post-partum body in this video:
But now Ashley has seen fit to tackle another double standard and social stigma: female body hair.
This week the 32-year-old Graham took to Instagram to share a series of candid personal snapshots with her 11.5 million Instagram, the last of which included a nude selfie in which Graham could be seen proudly displaying her patch of armpit hair.
Graham captioned her post: "Perfect bday with my boys (and if you didn’t vote yet, get out there tomorrow folks!!) [sic]"
Suffice it to say, a number of Graham's fans were clearly impressed with her display of body hair, and took to the comments section of the post to share their feelings on it:

For instance, one Instagram user wrote: "Love how you're rocking that under arm hair girl! We're all human, people need to stop expecting us to live up to a standard. [sic]"
Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "Yesssss!!!!! Part of the women with long armpit hair crewwww! [sic]"
In a 2019 conference hosted by Create & Cultivate, Graham opened up about her views on the importance of body positivity, stating:
"It’s really all about getting through the hurdles and building up your confidence, no matter what you’re doing.” It doesn’t matter what size or shape you are, you can be healthy."
"My mom told me my body was going to change someone’s life. And here we are, with so many different women saying, ‘I am represented.’” Your body is yours. Nobody else has ownership over it. This is truly your own journey.
"It’s not just about our size. It’s about our mind, our heart, our emotions. We get so wrapped up in this size conversation."
However, even Ashley sometimes experiences backlash over her own representation, and she recently came under fire for describing herself as a "big girl" in a social media post.
It's no secret that celebs love showing off their figures to the millions of followers on their various social media profiles. When you're in the spotlight, it's sort of a given. And with their glamorous jet-setting lifestyles and frequent beach vacations, their Instagram accounts, in particular, tend to be swimsuit-galore.
But when some female stars reach a certain age, they tend to put their swimsuit-clad days firmly behind and opt for a more conservative look. Not former Bond girl Jane Seymour, though. The 69-year-old actress loves a good bathing suit shot - and she insists they're all unretouched.
“I don’t retouch any of those pictures, it’s just me out there,” Seymour told People magazine. “You can tell in the one in the waterfall, I certainly didn’t put hair and makeup and do anything for that. I was getting splashed by a serious, serious waterfall there.”
The actress also says the secret to feeling good in your own skin is making an effort - even after you've had children.
“I felt that there are a lot of people I know who just give up,” Seymour continues. “They have the babies and they say, ‘Okay, I’m done caring about how I look and staying in shape.’ And then I think they think that people like me go to exotic spas and do all kinds of special treatments and I don’t do any of that. I think I wanted to show people what would happen if you just did a very simple regimen like I do, where you’re not on any specialty diet, you eat as sensible as you can, everything in moderation.”
And you don't get to the age of 69 looking as fresh as Seymour without a regular skincare routine.
“I exfoliate really, really well," she adds. "Then I use Crepe Erase — and I tend to use a lot of it. I love it and I put it in the regular places, on my chest, my arms, my legs and even my face. It’s all about plumping this skin up and enabling it to reset itself, too.”

There have been a lot of unbelievable things to happen this year - many of which have left social media users shocked, in denial, and with their jaws firmly on the floor.
But perhaps the most inconceivable thing to happen throughout 2020 is the fact Salma Hayek turned 54 years old. I'll say that again: Salma Hayek is 54!
And the Mexican-American actress has once again left her fans in awe after posting a series of bikini pics in order to celebrate the final days of 2020.
Writing to her 16.8 million Instagram followers, the From Dusk Till Dawn star said: "Last days of 2020. Never been more grateful for being healthy and in contact with nature."
In the post, the actress can be seen posing in front of a hammock while wearing a bright pink bikini, lightweight beach shirt, sunglasses, and hat.
And in under 24 hours of posting, the snaps have already amassed over 1.2 million likes from Hayek's adoring fans, as well as more than 8,000 comments with social media users in total disbelief of the 54-year-old's "timeless" appearance.
One fan simply asked "Do you ever age[?]"

And a second compared the actress to a "fine wine", writing: "Selma selma selma........talk about aging like fine wine....goddamn gurl!"
Another gushing fan commented: "What year is this from? Can’t be recent. No one looks that good in their fifties."

The Like A Boss star has previously revealed some of her best beauty tips in an interview with The New York Times, telling the publication back in 2017:
"I never cleanse my skin in the morning. My grandmother taught me that at night your skin replenishes all the things you lost during the day. Also, if I cleanse very well at night, why would it be dirty when I wake up? It’s for companies to have you use more products.
"At night I take off my makeup with coconut oil. Then I use rose water to take off the residuals. You can use a hot towel with the rose water — you put a wet towel in the microwave — to do a little steam. I’ll use the chamomile cleanser from Nuance. Then I splash with cold water."
The 54-year-old beauty added: "I have an edible mask with Juice Generation that has hibiscus in it that I might use. Or you can use a little bit of oatmeal and then some water or almond milk, and a little bit of honey.
"You let it soak, and it’s a great cleanser that makes your skin very soft. But I don’t over-exfoliate. Exfoliating a lot may make you look good in the short term, but not I think in the long term."
And despite looking absolutely remarkable, it turns out that even Salma hasn't always been fully on board with the whole "getting older" thing.
Back in 2016, Hayek opened up about how she felt turning 50 in an interview with Harper's Bazaar. She said:
"Well I am entering my fifties so your body confidence isn’t that good. I think it depends on the day, for everybody, there’s some days you say, ‘This is it,’ and you love it. Then there are days when you go, ‘This can not be it! Is this really it?’ So I think it’s up and down all the time!"
Why is it that some celebrities seem to have been able to hit the pause button on their lives and cease from aging like the rest of us?
Have Keanu Reeves, Selma Hayek, Paul Rudd, and Halle Berry all discovered the Fountain of Youth? And more importantly, is it being guarded over by Vera Wang?
The only reason I ask is that on June 27, the iconic wedding dress designer turned 71 years old, and celebrated her big day (which also coincided with Pride 2020), by uploading some pictures to Instagram.
Now, back in May, Wang ignited the internet with a series of seriously youthful snaps (scroll down), and even shared some of her tips for looking so incredible in her 70s.
But now it seems like she's a female Benjamin Button, because she looks even younger than she did in those snaps!
Sharing a series of pictures of her in an Adidas sports bra and some sunglasses, Wang captioned the post to her 402,000+ followers: "PRIDE Workout".
She's 71! She looks better than I have in five years and I'm 28!
And the photos proved popular among her fans, as the post amassed over 24,000 likes in 24 hours, with fans heaping compliments on the legendary fashion designer.
One Instagram user with the handle 'kolaczynski' typed: "I've come to realize that Vera Wang is quite probably the most stylish & coolest person ever."
Another admirer with the handle 'jeffshumate13' commented: "All of mankind thanks you for this picture."
And a third fan with the handle 'mike.peters1964' joked: "Totally amazing, wow 29 forever."

Other commenters simply couldn't get over how "flawless" the designer looks at 71 years old:

As I mentioned, back in May, Wang somewhat "broke the internet" when she uploaded some shots of her in lockdown.
Looking half her age and then some, Wang posed in a series of laidback outfits, that perfectly showed off her toned stomach and slender legs.
In one outfit, Wang rocks a bright orange crop top, white shorts, and bold sunglasses. In another, she pairs the same white shorts with a grey tank top, gray paisley bandana, and a killer pair of heels.
Now, Wang has revealed what she does to keep herself looking so young.
One Instagram user called Rosalee took to the comments section of one of Wang's recent snaps, and asked the question we were all asking in our heads. "I need my stomach to be like yours. What’s your routine?", she asked. asked a woman named Rosalee.
Mercifully, Wang replied, "Work, sleep, a vodka cocktail, not much sun."

I won't lie, I feel like I already achieve 75% of that list, and I certainly don't feel any younger.
In more snaps, the 70-year-old fashion icon got all dressed up on the patio in a bright orange gown, complete with matching face mask and black heeled boots.
In the third series of snaps, Wang pairs a t-shirt and Adidas leggings with a pair of white heels and a bold necklace. She shared the images with Harper's Bazaar for the magazine's #BazaarHopeAtHome survey.
Wang told the publication that she is currently quarantined in Miami with her "workday fashion family," and as a result, she's been taking some fashion risks and exercising more than usual. She said:
"All of them are extremely fit, which pushed me to 'work out' most days. [My quarantine group] being a hardcore fashion group, and me having my lifelong obsession with leggings, I had the opportunity to actually 'play' with clothes, something even a fashion designer rarely has the luxury of doing."
She also stated that the picture above: "depicts my personal conflict between loving athleisure clothing but dreading the treadmill!"
