Golf star, Paige Spiranac, opened up on Monday's episode of her Playing a Round podcast about the mental aspect of the sport, which led to her candidly discuss her past struggles.

"I have seen more sports psychologists than you will ever know. I have tried everything and anything," the 27-year-old said, before elaborating on her three most important takeaways.

"When you’re behind this imaginary visible line, you’re in your think box. So, this is where you check the wind, you pick your club, you’re doing your practice swings," Spiranac explained. “And then, as soon as you’re ready to go, you cross that invisible line and you’re in the play box. You’re not thinking of anything else other than the shot at hand."

She said that these techniques help keep her in the "present moment".

“All these negative thoughts seem to come into your head, but if you have a clear goal in mind of, ‘I’m in my play box now, all I’m going to work on is this shot that I have,’ it seems to really help,” she continued.

"I like giving this advice because I feel like it can be really helpful for a lot of people who are struggling,” Spiranac added, saying that the best golf is played with a carefree mentality;

"You get so in your head and you’re thinking about everything, and you’re trying to do too much,” she explained. “You play your best golf when you’re confident and you’re not thinking of anything. So you want to try to eliminate almost everything that you can, to not be thinking of your mechanics, or not thinking of all these techniques that you have."
