Over the last seven days, fans of Kanye West have expressed their concern for the rapper following yesterday's bizarre Twitter rant and a presidential rally over the weekend that saw the 43-year-old breakdown and say: "I almost killed my daughter."

With wife Kim Kardashian provided an updated on Kanye's mental health yesterday (below), singer Halsey has also taken to social media to explain why people should not be making fun of the rapper.

The 25-year-old 'Closer' singer wrote in a lengthy thread:

"No jokes right now. I have dedicated my career to offering education and insight about bipolar disorder and I’m so disturbed by what I'm seeing. Personal opinions about someone aside, a manic episode isnt a joke. If you can’t offer understanding or sympathy, offer your silence.

"A lot of people you know probably have bipolar disorder and you aren’t aware of it. Taking this opportunity to make offensive remarks and villify people with mental illnesses is really not the way to go...this is the exact triggering shit that causes people to keep quiet about it."

Halsey continued: "You can hate someone’s actions or opinions without contributing to stigma that damages an entire community of sometimes vulnerable people all for a couple of laughs.

"If you wanna think someone is an asshole, go ahead. Lots of people with mental illnesses are great. Lots of them are assholes. Because they are people. With nuanced personalities. But making jokes specifically targeted towards bipolar hurts more than the 1 person ur angry with.

"Sincerely, Human Being with a Decade Long Bipolar Diagnosis."

Yesterday, in a now-deleted series of tweets, West, 43,  said that he has been wanting to divorce from Kim Kardashian for the last two years.

And over the weekend, the rapper held his first "presidential rally" after announcing his intentions to run president on July 4.

However, West left those in attendance perplexed when he started to discuss abortion - saying in an outburst: "I almost killed my daughter. I almost killed my daughter."

West then started crying, after revealing that his parents nearly aborted him. He said: "There would have been no Kanye West, because my dad was too busy."

West then added: "I almost killed my daughter... even if my wife [Kim Kardashian West] were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn't want to."

West then gave an impromptu monologue about 19th-century abolitionist Harriet Tubman, in which he said: "Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go work for other white people."

After a concerning series of events, Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, spoke out yesterday (July 22) about her husband's mental health.

"As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar [sic] disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand," Kim wrote on her Instagram Stories.

"I've never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye's right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health," the mother-of-four continued.

"Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try."

While the 39-year-old noted that she "understands" that Kanye is "subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions."

Kim added: "He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions."
