Liam, 73, is set to star in The Naked Gun, alongside Pamela, 58, with the movie to be released in early August.

Just last year, Liam had admitted to People that he was "madly in love" with Pamela as he sang her praises.

He explained: "I'm madly in love with her. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film."

The admiration is clearly mutual as Pamela called Liam “the perfect gentleman,” adding: “He brings out the best in you … with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him.”

She also shared how she would show her appreciation behind the scenes, baking him bread and cookies and leaving them in his dressing room.

“[He] sincerely looked after me — wrapped his coat around me when I was cold,” she revealed.

And it turns out that the pair had a pretty steamy time on the set of the reimagining of the comedy classic.

Liam admitted that while he and Pamela did have an intimacy coordinator on set, they ended up leaving the room as things got so hot between the pair.

He explained: "I'd never had one before. But she was in the background. There was no kind of, 'OK! Excuse me!'"

Liam revealed that she ended up leaving, telling the stars: "I can't take this! This is too hot for me. I'm going for coffee."

Fans' hopes of a real-life romance were also sparked recently when Pamela was seen giving Liam a kiss on the cheek on the red carpet, but sadly the Baywatch babe shut them down in a recent interview.

Pamela told Entertainment Weekly: "I think I have a friend forever in Liam. And we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he's a good guy."

She added: "Our chemistry was clear from the start. We have the utmost respect for one another.

"I invited him and his assistant over for romantic dinners with me and my assistant so our relationship stayed 'professionally romantic' during filming.

"I'm hoping people love it. We had so much fun making it. I think it's timely for a beloved comedy like this. I'm a fan of the originals. As Liam says, 'We could all use a good giggle.' I pray we do more."
