James Van Der Beek's ex-wife, Heather McComb, has remarried, just four months after the Dawson's Creek star passed away at the age of 48.
The 49-year-old revealed on Instagram that she had married actor Scott Michael Campbell in an intimate ceremony held in Missoula, Montana, on Saturday, May 30.
"Yesterday @scottmichaelcampbell and I under the covenant of God got officially married by my beautiful sister @essence_says surround by the people we love most in the world in our most favorite city Missoula Montana," she penned in the caption.
"Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by. God is so good. Thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from all over the country to be with us. Thank you Jesus the way maker miracle worker!" she added.
Van Der Beek and McComb were married between 2003 and 2010 before eventually divorcing.
The wedding comes months after the late star's death in February, following a short battle with stage-three colorectal cancer.
After his passing, McComb shared a tribute to her ex-husband, saying she was "heartbroken" by the loss.
"I am heartbroken over the loss of beloved James. I am especially heartbroken for his incredible wife Kimberly, his beautiful children and his amazing family, Jim, Jared, Juliana and all of his family and friends who I know he loved deeply," she wrote on Instagram.
"James was a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love of God that shined through him," she continued. "He shined so bright yet was so humble and human. Always searching, always growing, always going deeper, always chasing things outside his comfort zone.
"I love you James. I know you had a lot of loved ones up there welcoming you home. God bless you. Till we meet again you sweet soul you. Prayers up," she added.
In the days after his death, friends launched a GoFundMe campaign for his wife, Kimberly, and the couple's children, saying the family faced an "uncertain future" after the actor's lengthy cancer treatment left them "out of funds".
Several high-profile names contributed to the fundraiser. Among the largest donations were Zoe Saldana, who pledged $2,500 per month, Steven Spielberg, who donated $25,000, and Wicked director Jon M. Chu, who contributed $10,000, per BBC News.
Although Van Der Beek remained a hugely popular figure following his death, many viewers noticed that he was absent from this year's Oscars In Memoriam tribute.
The actor, who rose to fame playing Dawson Leery from 1998 to 2003, was not included in the remembrance montage.
Fans also pointed out the omission of Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria star Eric Dane, who died in February after a 10-month battle with ALS.
Per reports, the omissions came down to time constraints. The Academy had already extended the In Memoriam segment due to the large number of industry figures who died in the previous year, but there was still not enough time to include everyone.
However, both Van Der Beek and Dane were recognized at the recent Actor Awards, previously known as the SAG Awards.
