Jared Leto has been praised on social media for defying gender norms.

Per Indy100, the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman was spotted by photographers attending UFC 264 in Las Vegas over the weekend, wearing an unconventional outfit to the event.

The 49-year-old singer-turned-actor could be seen donning a pair of oversized sunglasses, a deep v-cut floral blouse, a lengthy beaded necklace, as well as a bright blue silk cravat.

On social media, a number of Twitter users have since complimented Leto's fashion choices and applauded him for subverting traditional gender norms.

For instance, one person wrote: "Harry Styles and Jared Leto challenging what 'men's fashion' is gives me so much joy. Clothes don't have a gender. Wear what gives you joy."

Another stated: "Jared Leto out here showing up at UFC 264 taking down the whole a** patriarchy and gender binary in a single entrance lewk. #UFC264 [sic]"

Then this Twitter user chimed in: "Folks who talk about toxic masculinity & challenging gender norms are the same jerks who mock Jared Leto for embodying the values they champion.

"Thank you, Mr. Leto. You are a shining lodestar for each of us hetero but culturally-queer alphas who refuse the back of the bus. Salut. [sic]"

Commenting on Leto's neckwear, another person wrote: "People have issues. #JaredLeto's wearing an Ascot which is upscale/debonnaire fashion. 2 things are apparent.

"People: 1. don't know/remember fashion. 2. have gender norm issues. 3. never watched Scooby Doo as a kid. The way he's wearing it is very 70s. I don't see the problem. [sic]"

This comes not long after former One Direction member Harry Styles also defied gender norms by wearing a dress in a cover shoot for Vogue.

Per CNN, Styles broke new ground by becoming Vogue's first-ever male cover model - donning a black Gucci jacket and long green dress for his appearance in the fashion magazine's 2020 December issue.

In an interview with the publication, Styles commented on his love of female clothing by stating: "What's really exciting is that all of these lines are just kind of crumbling away.

"When you take away, 'There's clothes for men and there's clothes for women,' once you remove any barriers, obviously you open up the arena in which you can play."
