Jennifer Lopez did not hold back during a candid appearance on her Office Romance co-star Brett Goldstein’s podcast Films to Be Buried With, where she discussed some of the movies that have shaped her life and made a surprising confession about one of her all-time favorite films.
The singer and actress appeared on the June 10 episode of the podcast and reflected on a range of movies, from romantic classics to thrillers. During the conversation, Lopez named 1993 crime thriller True Romance as the film she finds most “arousing,” praising its cast and memorable characters.
Her comments quickly caught attention when she admitted she “would have had sex with any one of” the movie’s stars, before later joking that the revelation may say something about “the dark side of me.”
Speaking about the Tony Scott-directed film, Lopez praised its ensemble lineup, which included Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken and Samuel L. Jackson.
“The cast,” she said, “were so incredibly f**king good,” adding that “There are all these very seedy characters in the movie.”
Lopez went on to break down some of the performances that stood out to her.
“You have Christian Slater, who works in this record store and has hallucinations of Elvis, who’s played by Val Kilmer,” she said. “And then you have Patricia Arquette, who couldn't be better as the hooker with the heart of gold, the sweetest.”
Discussing Arquette’s character, Lopez added: “You still want to kind of kiss her on the lips. You know what I mean? It’s crazy, that movie.”
After admitting she “would have had sex with any one of them,” Lopez doubled down on the remark.
“That is the truth. Which says a lot about me, but maybe, like, the dark side of me.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Lopez reflected on the emotional impact of the 2024 film I’m Still Here, which she watched while going through her divorce from Ben Affleck.
She recalled watching the movie with her father around Christmas while she was unwell and dealing with a difficult period in her personal life.
“My dad was sitting there and something happened in my head and I just started crying, where I started calculating all of the things with my kids, my experience with my dad, like, everything happened just all at once,” she said. “My whole family knew I was going through a hard time.”
The emotional reaction led to a heartfelt exchange with her father that Lopez said had a lasting effect on her.
“I said, ‘Dads are so important,’” she remembered. “And he just kind of came over to me and grabbed my face and said, ‘I love you. I always loved you.’ And that kind of changed my life in that moment.”
Reflecting on the experience, Lopez added: “[It] healed a part of me that needed to be healed to kind of move on from that part of my life and from those types of relationships in my life. So that movie changed me and helped me grow.”
The podcast also saw Lopez name the film she considers her “worst type of film.”
When asked by Goldstein about the worst movie she had ever seen, Lopez chose the Oscar-winning Nomadland, although she was quick to clarify that she still respected the film and its performances.
“It’s hard to say ‘worst’ because it’s a beautiful film,” she said, describing it as her “worst type of film.”
“It’s not why I go to the movies. I like musicals. I like romantic comedies. I like thrillers, you know? And it’s a slow-moving thing about grief and there’s no escapism to it.”
Lopez praised star Frances McDormand, saying she was “amazing” and deserved her accolades, but concluded: “I just didn’t enjoy it. It’s just not for me.”
The conversation also highlighted Lopez’s strong connection with Goldstein, her co-star in Netflix romantic comedy Office Romance. Speaking previously about working together, Lopez said: “We had great chemistry to begin with. It just grew as we did the film together.”
She added: “I expected more of a rough guy, but you get this kind, gentle but also very smart person that is so charming. That was a surprise, I think.”

Jennifer Lopez has had a whirlwind few years - from starring in musicals and romantic comedies to rekindling (and ending) high-profile relationships.
Now, the multi-hyphenate is opening up about her Hollywood journey in a series of candid interviews...
... including her favorite on-screen kiss.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Lopez, 55, played the fan-favorite “Plead the Fifth” game where she was asked to rank some of her most iconic co-stars in terms of their lip-locking skills.
“We have George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey, Ralph Fiennes, Richard Gere, Owen Wilson, Josh Lucas, it goes on and on,” Cohen teased, referencing Lopez’s long list of romantic co-stars.
Lopez didn’t hesitate with her pick. “I’m gonna say my favorite … I just did a movie with Brett Goldstein and I’d say he was the best kisser.”
The two recently wrapped filming on the upcoming Netflix rom-com Office Romance, which Goldstein also co-wrote with fellow Ted Lasso producer Joe Kelly.
The project, announced in late 2024, marked Lopez’s first collaboration with the 45-year-old British star. “This is going to be fun!!!” she wrote on Instagram, sharing the casting news.
Filming for Office Romance took place earlier this year in New Jersey, with the project still under wraps in terms of plot details.
While the chemistry is clearly sizzling on screen, Lopez also used her WWHL appearance to shut down lingering curiosity about her personal life, specifically her past relationship with Alex Rodriguez.
When Cohen brought up speculation that her breakup with A-Rod was tied to him allegedly DMing Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy, Lopez let out a laugh.
“You know I really have nothing to say about my personal life anymore. I feel like I’m done with that.” As the crowd applauded her response, she added with a smile: “Yes! Support, support.”
Lopez and Rodriguez ended their engagement in March 2021. She later reunited with Ben Affleck, marrying him in July 2022—only to finalize their divorce in January 2025.
In a separate appearance on The Howard Stern Show, cited by the Independent, Lopez opened up about the one role that continues to haunt her: Unfaithful.
The 2002 erotic thriller, directed by Adrian Lyne, became a critical and commercial hit and earned Diane Lane an Oscar nomination. But Lopez revealed she was originally offered the role.
“Yes. Adrian Lyne offered me Unfaithful,” she said. So why did she pass? “The script wasn’t good, and then [Lyne] made it great. And Diane Lane got nominated for the Oscar.”
Reflecting further, she admitted: “It’s funny. It haunts me. It haunts me a little bit... I didn’t even know what the hell was going on in my mind at the time.”
Lopez has been transparent about this regret in the past, even telling Vanity Fair in 2020: “I should have known that Adrian Lyne was going to kill it, but I didn’t. Diane Lane was so perfect for it... I want to literally, like, shoot my toe off. I do.”
Unfaithful went on to gross $119 million at the global box office, with Lane earning nominations at both the Oscars and the Golden Globes.

Jennifer Lopez has left fans stunned after a steamy scene with Brett Goldstein in her new Netflix movie was revealed.
The upcoming rom-com is titled Office Romance, and sees the 56-year-old starring as powerful airline CEO Jackie Cruz, while Ted Lasso star Goldstein plays Daniel Branchflower, the company’s new lawyer who quickly finds himself falling for his boss.
But while sparks fly on-screen, rumors have been growing that the pair may have become just as close off-camera, too.
The trailer teases plenty of raunchy scenes between the duo, including a passionate encounter in a lift and a secret getaway to the Dominican Republic.
At one point in the clip, Lopez's character can be heard warning: "If we got caught, it could destroy everything I’ve built."
The movie arrives as speculation continues to swirl around Lopez and Goldstein’s relationship behind the scenes.
According to The Sun, one movie source claimed: "It was an open secret during filming about Brett and J-Lo – they got on like a house on fire from the start, and the chemistry was electric, which viewers will see.
"They were very touchy, feely, and always laughing, and everyone suspected they were hooking up," they added.
The insider added that the role may have been especially meaningful for Goldstein, 44, who reportedly wrote the part specifically with Lopez in mind after previously admitting she was his celebrity crush.
"We started asking ourselves who the best rom-com star is, and without hesitation, we both said JLo. And within the space of a long train journey, we had the whole idea for the film," he told PEOPLE.
"It's easy to write a rom-com when you have JLo in mind. She's the best at this stuff. We just wanted to write something funny and smart enough to be worthy of her saying yes," he added.
More fuel was added to the speculation after the duo was recently spotted together outside Barlume in New York’s Flatiron district.
A Page Six source claimed the co-stars appeared to have plenty of "chemistry" during the outing and described their interactions as "friendly" throughout the evening.
"When Brett walked out of the restaurant, he seemingly didn’t know where he was going, but one of the managers sent him into J.Lo’s car and they left together," the source alleged.
A second source later claimed the duo had actually been filming a segment for the Overheard Happy Hour podcast before the restaurant opened, alongside several Netflix staffers.
For the outing, Goldstein donned a grey collared shirt while Lopez wore a cream coat, matching heels, and oversized sunglasses.
Office Romance is set to arrive on Netflix next month.

Jennifer Lopez made a provocative on-stage confession about her sex life shortly after her ex-husband Ben Affleck reportedly gave her a one-word nickname.
Lopez, 56, recently debuted two new tracks during her European tour, with lyrics that appear to take direct aim at her 53-year-old ex-husband, following their split in August 2024.
In 'Up All Night', the artist sings: “I’m up all night, dancing on somebody, living my best life / I bet you wish that you were by my side / I got tired of you breaking me down / Look at me now,” cited by Cosmopolitan.
And in another song titled 'Wreckage of You,' which premiered on stage in Pontevedra, Spain, she digs even deeper: “Thank you for the scars you left on my heart / For showing me that stars shine brighter in the dark / I won't fall apart because of who you are / And all your broken parts. Because of you, I am stronger, wiser / Better than I've ever been," according to Daily Mail.
Despite the apparent digs, sources have revealed that Affleck is unbothered by the new music.
“If this song or any others bash him, what can he do? It’s childish and not something he wants to entertain,” the outlet reported. “He isn’t going to let it hurt him, and he’s definitely not going to give it life by reacting.”
Still, insiders say the Gone Girl actor saw this coming. “He’s known her long enough and been given a nod on plenty of her music before, so he is more than aware that this was coming,” they added. “He knows that this is something she has to do for herself and for her artistry.”
The former couple's rollercoaster romance began in 2002, fizzled in 2004, and reignited nearly two decades later. After marrying in Las Vegas in 2022, they split again two years later.
Lopez and Affleck's relationship was often marked by clashing views on privacy and fame, as The Good Will Hunting star has long expressed a preference for keeping his personal life out of the spotlight.
He once told The Wall Street Journal that "some things are intimate” and should not be “shared with the rest of the world".
But the 'Let's Get Loud' singer took a different route, highlighting their romance in her album 'This Is Me... Now' and in her 2024 documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, in which Affleck admitted he was “taken aback” by how openly she detailed their relationship.
Speaking to British GQ earlier this year, the father-of-two reflected: “My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers… you don’t always have the same attitude towards these things.”
The award-winning singer and actress' latest performances have made headlines far beyond the music.
While on stage at the Lucca Summer Festival in Italy, she delivered a candid monologue about her sexual preferences: “I have to be honest with you, sometimes I get in different moods at night. I don’t know about you but I do, and sometimes I like it hard.
"Other days, I am feeling a little romantic. You put on candles and soft music. On those days, I like it real slow. But there’s other days...maybe because it’s a new kind of time for me, maybe because it’s summertime and it’s hot outside, I feel a little more naughty. You ever get that feeling? Where you feel like being naughty? On those days, I like it real fast," she added.
That same week, she simulated risque acts on stage at the Cook Music Fest in Tenerife, straddling dancers, being lifted crotch-first onto a performer’s shoulders, and placing her hands between others’ legs - all while wearing a silver bodysuit.
Her bold persona drew criticism from conservative pundits like Megyn Kelly, who slammed the pop star on X, writing: “So she’s a soft porn star now. Great choices!”
However, others defended Lopez’s sexually confident stage presence. Brandy Smith, a licensed psychologist with Thriveworks, said Kelly’s comments seemed aimed at shaming, rather than empowering.
“There is likely some piece of it, conscious or not, connected to misogyny because it is suggesting that women should present themselves in a certain way and that a woman who does not present herself in a certain way is problematic,” she said.

Jennifer Lopez has opened up about what reigniting her spark with Ben Affleck has been like - and it hasn't all been smooth-sailing.
The singer/actress, 52, got back together with the actor last spring after ending her engagement to baseball player Alex Rodriguez.
The pair famously dated between 2002 and 2004 and were hailed as an iconic Hollywood couple.
However not long after Affleck popped the question, the pair's romance crumbled and resulted in a break-up just four days before their wedding.
And although it took nearly two decades for the pair to come back to one another, it seems as though 'Bennifer' is now stronger than ever, despite the harsh criticism that came with their reunion.
When Lopez and Affleck dated the first time around, South Park called her a "mean-spirited b****" in an episode that mocked her Latin heritage, meanwhile, Conan O'Brien said that, as stand-ins for the couple in a sketch, he'd cast "our script intern" as Affleck and "our cleaning lady" as Lopez.
"It was brutal," Lopez told Rolling Stone."It was brutal. It's one of those things that you bury very deeply so you can move on and get about your business."
She went on: "It’s funny because Ben and I were together, and we were so in love. It was one of the happiest times of my life.
"But also, there was this other thing happening where we were being criticized, and it really destroyed our relationship from the inside out, because we were just too young to understand at that time what were really the most important things in life."
Lopez said she does not see the relationship ending this time. "I don't think we would have got back together if we thought that was where it was headed," she added.
"We feel like what we found again is so much more important, and how we protect that and how we live our lives – what to share, what not to share – is the balance that we have now, the benefit of experience and the wisdom that we gained over the years."
Following her initial split from Affleck, Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony in 2004 - which was her third time walking down the aisle. She and Marc went on to welcome two children, before their divorce in 2014. The pair have remained on good terms.
More recently, Lopez's relationship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez, 45, came to an end in April earlier this year. The pair had been dating since 2017.
Meanwhile, Affleck went on to date actress Jennifer Garner, whom he married in 2005. The pair went on to welcome three children together before their divorce in 2018.

Jennifer Lawrence has shared a candid confession about her life in the bedroom in a resurfaced interview.
The Hunger Games star, 33, is known for not holding much back in interviews, which does make her a dream interviewee.
She certainly wasn't shy about speaking about her sex life in a previous interview, in which she revealed one major fear she has about hooking up.
The actress revealed that her sex life probably isn't as active as people might believe, due to one major fear she has to face.
Jennifer told Howard Stern in 2018: "I always talk like I want d**k, but the truth is when I look back at my sexual past it was always with boyfriends.
"I talk like I like it, but I don’t really do it.
"I am mostly also a germaphobe. I have made it this far without an STI."
She then added: "D**k is dangerous. If I was at the point where I could get an STI, doctors have already been involved. That is how much of a germaphobe I am."
Jennifer also admitted at the time: "I am not in a relationship. I am making it clear that I have not had sex in a very long time. I would like to have a relationship, you know – it’s hard out there!"
Thankfully, she didn't have to wait too much longer as she got married just 18 months later to gallerist Cooke Maroney.
The pair tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their baby son, Cy, in 2022.
Jennifer also recently revealed that she wished she had listened to singer Adele's advice on her career after taking on a movie that flopped.
The Academy Award winner appeared in the 2016 film Passengers alongside Chris Pratt, as two people on board a spaceship to Homestead II who mistakenly wake up with 90 years of their voyage left.
The film grossed just $300 million worldwide having cost $110 million to make and achieves just a 30 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Jennifer revealed: "Adele told me not to do it! She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies’. I should have listened to her."
