Heartbreaking reason John Cena keeps his hand in his pocket while walking on red carpets
WWE legend John Cena made an emotional admission about self-worth during a recent podcast guest appearance.
The 49-year-old appeared on The Romesh Ranganathan Show alongside actress Jessica Biel, as they promoted their upcoming action-comedy, Matchbox: The Movie.
Cena is widely considered to be one of the nice guys in Hollywood, who has been praised for his honest interactions with fans.
He has previously opened up about his health struggles in the past, in efforts to ensure others don't make the same mistakes he made.
Now, he has once again been praised by the public after assuring comedian and podcast host Ranganathan that everyone has insecurities.
The host spoke about being a 'people pleaser' as he did not want the guests to leave 'with a more negative impression of me than you had before you arrived', before mentioning he has imposter syndrome.
Why Cena keeps his hand in his pocket
Ranganathan told Cena and Biel: "I know this is not about me, but I've got crippling insecurities."
The former then replied: "You are not alone. No, for real, you are not alone," as Biel also echoed the same sentiment.
"I go through a heavy dose of that in a lot of places," the former Wrestler stated, before pulling out a pocket watch, revealing that he carries it around everywhere.
It reads: "Comparison is the thief of joy."
"You will see me literally rubbing it in places where I feel like less than," he explained, adding: "I carry this with me because you're not alone. I struggle with that myself."
Biel pointed out that it appeared quite useful as a 'worry stone', as Cena added: "You'll see me on like red carpets and in rooms; I don't feel alone.
"Just like my hand will be in my pocket like this, just going like that as a telltale sign that I don't belong here. Super imposter syndrome."
Ranganathan thanked the wrestler-turned-actor for validating his feelings, as he admitted to being 'addicted' to feeling less than.
Cena's previous admission about steamy scenes
The actor, who has opened up about his mental health in the past, has also given his two cents on the more viral moments of his career.
Cena has rarely commented on his experience with Amy Schumer on Trainwreck, but he revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he "came prepared" for the gig, which then turned into more than he expected.
He explained: "Let's take Trainwreck for example, a part that was written simply to be a one scene gag.
"Amy's true experience in life where she had way too physical sex with someone and it was like 'this is just too physical, I can't, like I'm out' because it's a gag and super funny.
"We did stunt rehearsals and we used none of it because of the audition and their ability to pivot and be like 'oh man' but I came prepared dude.
"I came prepared and confident and knew like 'okay, I'm giving this small window of probably 90 seconds on screen my everything,' and what I'm not going to do is get out of that audition and say 'I could have done more.'"
