Kanye West refused to sign an autograph for a young fan, all because he didn't want to be seen using the pen that she was offering.
Kanye is a divisive figure. You either love what he stands for and his music, or you're sick of hearing about the bizarre things that he gets up to.
But one thing that you can't fault Kanye on, is his ability to make a seemingly ordinary moment take a weird turn that just raises eyebrows.
As it turns out, when he's not parading around with Bianca Censori in revealing outfits, he's taking issue with pens.
At Paris Fashion Week, the rapper ventured out to greet admirers while sporting a black anorak, Nike gloves, and titanium grills and graciously posed for photos with fans.
However, when a young girl approached him with a notepad requesting an autograph, the situation took an unexpected turn.
In a viral video capturing the moment, Kanye was seen scrutinizing the pen offered by the fan, a small bunny-shaped, pink and white pen.
"Is that a pen?" he questioned, clearly unimpressed by the unconventional choice.
Watch the moment below:Despite the light-hearted laughter from the crowd, West made it clear that he wasn't going to compromise on his standards. "Y’all gonna make me hold a bunny pen?" he said, sparking further amusement from the crowd.
While it all seemed to be in jest as he grinned with his titanium grills on show, it appeared that the rapper had no intention of signing the autograph with the pen, and was instead handed a more conventional one.
People quickly offered their thoughts, with one person commenting: "You know it’s gone too far when he thinks he’s too important to use a pen with a bunny design."
A second person said: "I don’t like bunny pens anymore," while a third commented: "Ye not rockin’ with bunny pens?!"
In other Kanye news - not related to pens - he stirred controversy with a peculiar rant where he claimed that he was helpful to Taylor Swift's career.
The longstanding feud between West and Swift traces back to the infamous incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where Kanye interrupted Taylor's acceptance speech and told the crowd that Beyoncé was more deserving of the award, sparking animosity between their respective fan bases.
In an Instagram post, Kanye asserted: "REMEMBER I WAS ON TAYLOR’S SIDE WHEN SCOOTER BOUGHT HER MASTERS BEHIND HER BACK."
Addressing Taylor's fans, Kanye claimed to have contributed more to Taylor's career than detracted from it, stating: "I’M SURE I’VE BEEN FAR MORE HELPFUL TO TAYLOR SWIFT’S CAREER THAN HARMFUL."
There's never a dull moment with that man.
