Over the weekend, many families celebrated Easter, many potheads celebrated 4/20, and many nerds celebrated the premiere of Game of Thrones, season eight, episode two. And tomorrow, the good times keep rolling with another special day: Prince Louis' first birthday! Huzzah, huzzah! Or whatever British people say.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed Prince Louis into the world on April 23, 2018. He is the couple's third child, joining siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte. (Princess George turns 6 on July 22 and Princess Charlotte turns 4 on May 2.) I was hoping William and Kate would name their kids after Game of Thrones characters, like Tyrion, Arya and Hodor, but they did not. Probably against the royal rules.
On Monday, the Duke and Duchess shared three adorable new photos of the birthday boy on their official Instagram account. The pictures were taken by Kate herself at the woodland of the royal couple's Anmer Hall home in Norfolk. Like any mom, Kate photographs her kids during special moments, like the first day of school and holiday gatherings. Don't forget, she has an eye for visuals, having studied art history at the University of St. Andrews.
In one snap, Prince Louis wears a red sweater with buttons on the shoulders, his mouth agape in excitement. (Oh, to look like at the world like a kid again!) But that outfit doesn't stay clean long. Another image shows the young prince playing in the yard, with blades of grass stuck to his sweater. Maybe that's why he changed clothes for the third photo, where he sports blue sweater with an image of puppy. (Just in case you didn't think the pics were cute enough.)
Last December, Kate photographed the family for a festive Christmas greeting card, and eight-month old Prince Louis arguably stole the the show. But don't worry, reportedly his older siblings aren't jealous.
"Charlotte is really enjoying having a younger brother to play with," a source told Us Weekly last May, after Kate shared a photo of Charlotte kissing her sleeping baby brother’s forehead. "She’s taking her big sister duties very seriously. She won’t leave baby Louis’ side."
