There's no doubt that new moms face a lot of societal pressures over their figure. Now, this also goes for those in the public eye, who are perhaps under even more pressure to return to a certain weight ludicrously quickly due to tabloid gossip columns and cruel internet trolls.
Yes, it seems as though even celebrities aren't immune to this either, and even the most glamorous ladies on the planet are getting pretty sick of this unwelcome paradigm.
Take a look at one of Kate's sultry Sports Illustrated photoshoot here:For instance, this week the model and actress Kate Upton has posted a bikini breastfeeding photo on her official Twitter account and revealed she faces some pretty ridiculous weight loss pressures.
Sharing a pic of herself wearing a sun hat and breastfeeding her baby daughter Genevieve, Kate captioned her pic: "Every woman experiences this due to the unnecessary and unrealistic expectations that are brought into every household, mostly via social media. I certainly felt these pressures, as all women do. I tried to push myself early to get back to the gym, eat perfectly and try to achieve this alleged 'snap back.'"
She continued: "But, after realizing how ridiculous these pressures are I quickly gave myself some slack and lived in the moment as a new mother. Every woman needs to give their body time to heal and to soak in those early, precious moments.
She added: "I realized quickly that between breastfeeding, healing, little-to-no sleep, off-the-charts hormone changes and experiencing everything for the first time that those weight-loss pressures are extremely unnecessary, and I decided to turn my energy towards my family. Every mother’s experience is different with every baby. I’ve learned everyone’s journey is extremely personal and no two are the same."
But Kate isn't the only celeb to use a breastfeeding pic to make a point, and recently actress Shay Mitchell clapped back at the mom-shamers on social media who criticized a similar picture she posted to Instagram.
