Keith Urban has 'crash out' on stage after divorce from Nicole Kidman

Keith Urban doesn't appear to be taking his divorce too well, as some fans appear to have noted he had a "crash out" on stage recently.

Nicole Kidman filed papers to end her 19 years of marriage to Urban, citing “marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences.”

TMZ noted that on October 2, Urban was seen without his wedding ring. Together, they share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

Keith Urban Has "Crash Out" On Stage

In a viral TikTok clip from his October 4 concert, the country icon unexpectedly altered a lyric in his 2002 breakup anthem 'You’ll Think of Me.'

Originally, the line goes: “Take your memories, I don’t need ’em / Take your space and take your reasons.”

But that night, he sang instead: “Take your memories, I don’t need ’em / Take your space and all your stupid bulls**t reasons.”

He immediately followed that with a pointed remark: “You shouldn’t have treated me this way.”

Viewers in the comments section didn’t hold back.

One wrote: “Keith Urban crashing out on stage was not on my 2025 Bingo card.”

Another observed: “He is obviously angry.” A more provocative theory came from someone saying: “Recovering addict here. I think he's relapsed, that crash out looks fueled by something else.”

And yet another: “He is singing with anger which says to me. there is more to this story than what everyone thinks and its not all Keith.”

At 57, Urban and 58‑year‑old Kidman confirmed their separation on September 29, after 19 years of marriage.

The “Cocaine Clause”: How Their Prenup Could Impact the Settlement

While fans grapple with his performance and the emotional undercurrents, fresh details have emerged about the couple’s prenuptial agreement — specifically a seldom‑discussed “cocaine clause," per News.com.au.

According to reports, when they married in 2006, they included a stipulation that for every year Keith stayed sober, he would be entitled to $600,000 from Nicole. As Urban is believed to have remained abstinent since entering rehab in 2006, that clause alone could net him $11 million.

Keith has spoken openly about his past substance struggles and how Nicole played a lead role in pulling him from that darkness.

In a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, he reflected: “That’s the point right there, where she really should’ve just walked,” Keith told Oprah Winfrey in 2010, reflecting on how Nicole staged an intervention just months into their marriage.

He added: “I’m just so glad she didn’t. She initiated this intervention, and it was done in such a way that the love in that room at that moment was just right.”

Later, in Rolling Stone, he credited both Kidman and close friends for helping him to commit to sobriety.

Urban has acknowledged he was not yet in recovery when they wed: “I wasn’t in AA. I didn’t have a sponsor. Meeting Nic and falling in love with Nic… that was my sobriety,” he admitted.

At the 2024 AFI Lifetime Achievement Award event — where Nicole was honored — he again praised her resilience: “Four months into a marriage, and I’m in rehab for three months with no idea what was going to happen to us.

"Nic pushed through every negative voice (even her own) and she chose love. And here we are tonight, 18 years later.

"Her capacity to love is like no one I’ve ever met.”
