Kim Kardashian’s 12-year-old daughter, North West, has shocked the internet once again with her latest social media post.
Over the weekend, North shared several TikTok videos where she displayed a striking new look for someone so young, a look that featured fake tattoos and piercings.
The pre-teen flaunted her creative side with star-shaped tattoos under her right eye and her name in cursive on her left cheek. She paired these temporary tattoos with a bold style, including blue braided hair, a black grill, a faux septum ring, and colored contact lenses. Her outfit consisted of a baggy black T-shirt, long shorts, chunky sneakers, and silver jewelry.
In one of the videos, North confidently captioned the look: “Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life.” The photos also showed her posing with friends, enjoying time on a private jet, and attending a concert. While her TikToks captured her distinctive style, the comments were disabled for all posts, likely to avoid unwanted criticism.
Kim Kardashian defends North’s unique style choices
Kim Kardashian has faced backlash in the past for allowing North to experiment with fashion and beauty, particularly when it comes to more mature or controversial choices.
One such instance was in August when Kardashian faced criticism for letting North wear a corset, miniskirt, and platform boots during a family trip to Rome. Despite the criticism, Kim has always been supportive of her daughter's individuality and freedom to express herself.
In an interview on the Call Me Daddy podcast, Kim addressed the concerns surrounding North’s fashion choices. She admitted that some of the outfits North has chosen, such as the corset, were perhaps a mistake for a 12-year-old, but emphasized that kids today are drawn to similar trends.
“It’s really hard and it’s really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things,” Kim said. “But then my daughter tries to wear it, and then I’m like, ‘OK, we’re never wearing that again.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world.”
Despite the occasional misstep, Kardashian has made it clear that she will not stifle her daughter’s creativity. “I would never take that creativity away from her,” she stated, adding that North’s happiness with her style choices is important. “You know, it makes her so happy.”
