Kim Kardashian has officially managed to achieve billionaire status.

According to the latest report from Forbes, the 40-year-old reality TV star, influencer, model, businesswoman, and wife of Kanye West is now estimated to be worth a whopping total of $1 billion, up from $780 million in October.

The publication reports that Kim's astronomical financial profits have come down to hero two lucrative businesses, KKW Beauty and Skimm, along with the cash earned from her family's reality show, social media sponsorship and endorsement deals, and a number of other investments.

Kim managed to earn herself a further $200 million after selling approximately 20% of KKW Beauty to Coty.

Kim Kardashian's first founded the KKW Beauty cosmetics brand back in 2017, following the success of her half-sister Kylie Jenner’s own personal brand, Kylie Cosmetics.

Kim's first launch of 300,000 contour kits was sold out within the first two hours of launch, and her business went on to generate over $100 million in revenue in the space of a year.

Indeed, this pronouncement comes after Kim herself defended Kylie after Forbes previously declared her to be the world's youngest self-made billionaire, and a number of critics contested her title.

In a 2018 interview with Refinery 29, the KUWTK star stated: "I really didn’t get it, because she is 'self-made' — we are all 'self-made.

"What, because we came from a family that has had success? To me, that doesn’t really make sense... I know so many people like that [who] haven’t turned out to be as successful as Kylie. If anything, I've seen the complete opposite."

Kim continued: "Me, Kylie, not one of us has ever depended on our parents for anything besides advice. That’s how I lived my life with my dad. He never gave me anything. We might have the opportunity, but I’ve seen it go the complete opposite way. Nobody works harder than my sisters and my mom."

However, Page Six reports that Forbes later retracted Kylie from the list, and subsequently released a report claiming she had faked her way to billionaire status thanks to a number of bogus tax returns. As of May 2020, Forbes has estimated Kylie Jenner's net worth at the more modest figure of $900 million, as opposed to $1 billion instead.
