Lady Gaga's dog walker has shared an update on his condition after having a lung removed.

The pop icon's dog walker, 30-year-old Ryan Fischer, was ambushed and shot by two men on Wednesday, February 24, while walking Gaga's three french bulldogs in Los Angeles.

Fisher was left seriously injured when the assailants stole the star's pets, Koji and Gustavo, while Miss Asia managed to escape.

After being found by police, Fisher was rushed to hospital, where medics were thankfully able to stabilize him.

Fischer updated his followers in a post made on Instagram, writing that he had required additional surgery to fully recover, due to the injuries he sustained from his gunshot wounds.

Fischer wrote: "With the chest tube removed (which I can only equate to an alien baby extraction) and my blood oxygen stable, the journey outside to recover with loved ones began.

"It became clear that my lung was not healing, and the bullet wound had scarred my tissue like a burn.

"It could take months, if ever, for the whole hole to seal. Lunches of grilled cheese and tomato soup and art walks blurred into one. [sic]"

He continued: "Now that I’m finding my way in the outside world where triggers are real and working through trauma is WAY more than dealing with one unfortunate moment in life.

"I look back at my exit from the hospital and I smile that I continue to approach life each day the same way. [sic]"

He added: "The journey is hard, it's assuredly painful, and questionable choices that no longer serve me like wearing skinny jeans are made. But I try. And somewhere within that, I find the absurdity and wonder and beauty this life offers us all. [sic]"

The Bad Romance singer's two stolen pets have since been found safe and well. They were returned to a local police department by a woman unconnected with their theft.

Gaga promised a $500,000 reward to anyone who could bring her missing dogs home and also publically pledged to pay Fischer's $97,500 medical bills.

The LAPD has since released a statement describing the physical appearance of the thieves in the hope that they will be identified by the public.

One suspect was described as "male, black, 20-25 years of age, blond dreadlocks, wearing a black hoodie, and armed with a semiautomatic handgun," while the other was described as "male, black, 20-25 years of age, wearing dark clothing."
