Lady Gaga's dog walker shares heartbreaking photos from his hospital bed as he talks for the first time about his 'close call with death'
Lady Gaga's dog walker has opened up about his near-fatal ordeal for the first time from his hospital bed.
The pop icon's dog walker, 30-year-old Ryan Fischer, was ambushed and shot by two men at around 10 pm on Wednesday, February 24 in Los Angeles. The perpetrators stole two of Gaga's three french bulldogs; Koji, Gustavo, and Miss Asia, and left Fischer for dead.
Although badly wounded, Fischer was able to stay conscious until police arrived on the scene, and was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors and surgeons were able to stabilize him...
In a candid post taken from his bedside, Fisher shared two images of himself in a state of recovery, along with a lengthy caption.
The caption in question read:
"4 days ago, while a car sped away and blood poured from my gunshot wound, an angel trotted over and laid next to me. My panicked screams calmed as I looked at her, even though it registered that the blood pooling around her tiny body was my own.
"I cradled Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we’d been on together, apologized that I couldn’t defend her brothers, and then resolved that I would still try to save them… and myself.
"Hopeful that my calm(ish) and forceful pleas for the urgency of my care as well as the focused descriptions of the dogs would be enough to help me and get enough police and media attention to find the boys, I looked back at my guardian angel.
"I smiled at her shaking form, thankful that at least she would be okay. From that point, right as the neighbors poured from their homes and restaurant to us on the sidewalk, life has taken a very sudden and unexpected turn."
Fisher continued:
"I am still in recovery from a very close call with death and have kept myself (for the most part, I mean I am human) from the growing media story.
"I will write and say more later, but the gratitude for all the love I feel from around this planet is immense and intense.
"I felt your healing support! Thank you. I am humbled and grateful that attention and focus from the police were enough to get Koji and Gustav back to safety, and I know they are committed to bringing these criminals and attempted murderers to justice. [sic]."
He added: "And now? A lot of healing still needs to happen, but I look forward to the future and the moment when I get bombarded with kisses and licks (and maybe even an excitement pee?) from Asia, Koji, and Gustav. [sic]."
The Bad Romance singer's two stolen pets have since been found safe and well, returned to a local police department by a woman unconnected with the crimes.
Gaga promised a $500,000 reward to anyone who could bring her missing dogs home and also publically pledged to pay her dog walker's $97,500 medical bills.
The LAPD has since released a statement describing the physical appearance of the thieves in the hope that they will be identified by the public.
One suspect was described as "male, black, 20-25 years of age, blond dreadlocks, wearing a black hoodie, and armed with a semiautomatic handgun," while the other was described as "male, black, 20-25 years of age, wearing dark clothing."
