Machine Gun Kelly was seen being pelted with bottles and branches by lairy festival-goers in Sacramento, California.

Over the weekend, the 31-year-old 'Bad Things' rock-rapper, whose real name is Colson Baker, was interrupted in the middle of his performance by booing fans.

In footage shared on social media, bottles and branches were thrown at MGK, who was performing on top of a tent at the Aftershock Festival.

Addressing the "mixed opinions" from the crowd during his performance, the chart-topper said per Metro: "How the f**k you feelin' Aftershock? Mixed opinions. I love you so much. This morning I was like, 'Do we get on the plane and go to this?'"

Kelly then revealed that it was a young fan who he had thought of when he got up on stage.

He told the crowd: "I was sitting there thinking about the last festival we did where this 10-year-old got her poster ripped up just for liking me. I’m doing this show for her and everyone who came to see us."

MGK's performance at the Aftershock Festival comes after reports emerged that a male fan managed to get over the railing during the rapper's gig at the Louder Than Life festival. The fan then allegedly proceeded to push Kelly, who reportedly pushed him back.

It was also alleged that the singer tried to punch the man as security dragged him away. It is not known, however, whether or not the rapper actually did make physical contact with the fan.

The Louder Than Life performance also sparked controversy after footage showed festival-goers booing MGK and chanting "you suck".

In response to this, the 'Rap Devil' hitmaker shared a different fan's video in which the crowd could be heard loudly cheering and singing along.

Alongside the footage, MGK tweeted: "I don’t know why the media lies in their narrative against me all the time but all i saw was 20,000 amazing fans at the festival singing every word and 20 angry ones. [sic]"

Kelly also recently divided music fans when he described heavy metal group Slipknot as a bunch of "50-year-olds wearing a f***ing weird mask on a f***ing stage" during his Riot Fest performance.
