Miley Cyrus shares emotional update on Dolly Parton’s health after heartbreaking appeal to public for prayers
Dolly Parton’s health has become a growing concern after the country legend postponed her Las Vegas residency and her sister took to Facebook asking for prayers.
Her famous goddaughter Miley Cyrus has even shared an update after much speculation about Dolly's well-being.
The 79-year-old icon shared earlier this year that she needed “a few procedures” and would not be able to deliver the kind of show her fans expect. Her sister Freida’s emotional post, saying she was “up all night praying” for Dolly, only deepened the public’s concern.
Meanwhile, fans have been closely watching for any updates, as rumors swirled about the singer’s condition.
Dolly responds to concerns about her health
After Freida’s post began making headlines, she later clarified she “didn’t mean to scare anyone [...] when asking for prayers for Dolly.”
Dolly, never one to let speculation take the reins, addressed the concerns herself with a direct message on X. “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here,” she said in a video. “I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease. Those that seemed to be real concerned, which I appreciate, and I appreciate your prayers.”
She also fired off a classic line: “I ain’t dead yet!”
The singer also opened up this summer about putting music on pause after the death of her husband, Carl Dean. “I can’t do it right now ‘cause I got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of, you know, of getting emotional right now,” she said.
Still, she left fans with hope: “I’ll write something else, though, if it comes. I’m just putting that all on hold.”
Miley Cyrus shares an update
Miley Cyrus recently offered a more uplifting picture of how Parton is doing, saying the star isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
“She’s always gonna keep the show going,” Cyrus told Entertainment Tonight. “The show must go on. She’s just excited to get back to work.”
That positive energy seemed to be on display when Parton appeared in a Thanksgiving video, looking cheerful and festive as she greeted fans. The message came just weeks after her postponed shows and served as a public sign that she was bouncing back.
