Nick Cannon's girlfriend Alyssa Scott has shared a heartbreaking final post of their five-month-old son Zen following his tragic death.
Cannon, 41, revealed in the latest episode of The Nick Cannon Show on Tuesday, December 7, that his youngest son had died after falling ill with a malignant brain tumor.
He dedicated the emotional episode to his "beautiful son Zen," whom he and Scott welcomed on June 23.
Grieving mom Scott is yet to speak out publicly on the death of her baby, however, she did share footage and pictures of the infant to her Instagram Story the day before Cannon made it public on his show.
Scott posted a sweet picture of Zen, in which the new mom is seen holding him in her arms. She also included footage of the little one laying on his back wearing a pair of yellow dungarees.
Speaking to Zen, the doting mother says: "Can you say, ‘Good morning daddy?’ Say, ‘I love you.’ Say, ‘I love you so much.’ Good job, and he loves you too! You tell him we’re going to go on a walk right now? Okay, tell him, ‘Bye-bye’ Say, ‘Bye-bye, daddy!"
In another of the videos she shared, she is heard speaking to her newborn in a very gentle voice as she says to him: "Hi, you slept pretty good. Did you have lots of dreams? What were you dreaming about?"
On Tuesday, the Masked Singer host told the audience on his show that he'd had a "very tough weekend."
He then went on to explain: "Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus that is pretty much a malignant, midline brain tumor — brain cancer."
Hydrocephalus is characterized by an extreme increase in the amount of fluid in the brain.
Cannon became visibly emotional as he spoke about his son's medical condition.
"I always noticed he had a cough and so I wanted to check it out," he said. "He had this real interesting breathing, and by the time he was 2 months old I noticed... he had this nice-sized head, too. I called it a Cannon head."
"We didn’t think anything about it. But I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine," he added.
Sadly, doctors discovered that the little one had a brain tumor and his health continued to decline despite undergoing surgery. He tragically passed away over the weekend.
