North West's very first Instagram post racks up millions of likes in days
North West has officially made her mark on Instagram, and the internet is buzzing. The 12‑year‑old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West launched her own account on December 20, posting her first photo to immediate attention. In the week since that debut, her opening post has been liked nearly 2 million times.
The post featured North striking a peace sign with both hands while wearing a graphic Balenciaga tee, a mini skirt and boots, her hair slicked back in a stylish look. “First post,” she wrote in the caption. The account’s bio notes that it is “managed by parents,” and by the end of the first day it had already drawn hundreds of thousands of followers, including her mom and grandmother Kris Jenner. For now, North’s “Following” list remains empty.
Her social media presence before this has mostly been on a joint TikTok account shared with Kim Kardashian, where she posts fun dance videos with family and friends. But this Instagram launch gives her a space to express her growing interest in fashion and beauty.
Playful debut and second look
Just a day after her first upload, North shared a second image. In that post she hid her face behind her hands and wore an oversized fuzzy hat, with bright blue hair peeking through. The brief caption simply showed an emoji, “🔜.”
This Instagram debut comes after previous public comments from Kanye West about his children’s social media use. Kardashian and West, who also share children Saint, Chicago and Psalm, separated in 2022. North has stood out for her bold style choices, including vibrant hair and creative self‑expression.
Kim Kardashian on North’s creativity
Kim Kardashian has publicly supported her daughter’s creative experiments. On the Call Her Daddy podcast in October she said, “I’m like, ‘Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is.’ It makes her so happy. I would never take that creative [outlet] away from her.”
