OnlyFans star Sophie Rain reveals jaw-dropping amount she paid in tax after making $83 million
OnlyFans star Sophie Rain has opened up about the jaw-dropping amount of money she pays in tax after making $83 million.
At just 21 years old, Rain has become one of the subscription site's most successful creators.
The content creator, from Florida, has been honest about her income, even allowing YouTuber David Dobrik to view her OnlyFans dashboard firsthand.
"No one believes me," she told Dobrik, saying: "I’m paranoid it could all disappear tomorrow." Dobrik responded with disbelief: "Eighty-two million dollars doesn’t just disappear tomorrow."
Rain Reveals How Much She Pays In Tax
In an episode of the Iced Coffee Hour podcast, the young creator broke down just how much of her earnings go to taxes.
"I made $83,000,000 last year," she explained, adding: "So I paid 37% of that." That would put her tax bill at roughly a huge $30 million.
When asked what she does with the remaining money, Rain said she focuses on investing, particularly in real estate.
"I have two, I'm about to own a third in Florida... I have a farm, I have cows that I take care of," she explained. "I want to own a cattle ranch... I have 12 cows right now that I'm working with, on 20 acres, and that's what I do in my free time."
As the hosts expressed disbelief at the scale of her earnings, especially compared to other entrepreneurs and musicians, Rain kept it simple.
"You can make your own income just being you online," she said.
Political Backlash
Rain's eye-watering figures come after she challenged James Fishback, a Florida governor candidate, after he called for a "sin tax" to be imposed on people who make adult content.
Fishback told NXR Studios: "It is called a 'sin tax' because it is a sin...the purpose of the sin tax in economics is to disincentivize and deter a behavior."
His proposal goes beyond rhetoric as he wants to guarantee that all revenue from Florida’s 50 percent OnlyFans Tax will increase public school teacher pay and improve school lunches.
The policy pitch frames the tax revenues as a booster for public education.
"I don't want young women who could otherwise be mothers raising families, rearing children, I don't want them to be selling their bodies to sick men online," he said.
"I don't want young, impressionable men who have strayed from Christ, who have strayed from our Lord and savior to be told, and to be drawn into lust, and have their entire brain rewired."
Sophie Rain Hits Back
The content star did not take Fishback’s comments lightly as she told PEOPLE that his plan is "the dumbest thing I've ever heard of."
"No one ever forced me to start an OnlyFans, it was MY decision, so I don't need a 31‑year‑old man telling me I can't sell my body online," she said.
Rain, who has said she's a virgin, strongly defended her spiritual standing. "I am a Christian, God knows what I am doing, and I know he is happy with me, that's the only validation I need," she said.
She also shared a follow‑up video, criticizing the focus on OnlyFans creators rather than larger corporations.
"Targeting a group of individuals using their job to survive when there are multibillion dollar corrupt business that don't pay any taxes is the insane," she said.
She blasted the Florida candidate's motives: "He is focusing on me because he needs the attention he can get at this point, which, honestly is sad if you think about it.
"He is first condemning what I do, but at the same time picking me out of the bunch to start some type of viral beef. He thinks he can go after the biggest, but let's see how that turns out for him," she slammed.
