It seems as though Kanye West has reportedly been struggling to get himself on stage. But with a string of controversies following him around, are we really surprised?
In a new report from Rolling Stone, the 46-year-old is now apparently dealing with the consequences of his actions after he "effectively imploded his career".
Now, it's no wonder why no one wants to be around West, after some of the controversial things he's said over the past few years.
From making anti-semitic comments and seeing himself get banned from certain social media platforms to posting incredibly revealing images of his wife Bianca Censori for the world to see, the rapper has managed to earn himself a label of chaos - something no one seemingly wants to have any part of.
Not only that but his former partnerships with both Balenciaga and Adidas were terminated after staffers spoke out against the Yeezy owner, accusing him of abuse.
Back in November 2022, Rolling Stone also reported that in the same month that Adidas severed ties with Ye amid a hail of hate speech, more than "two dozen former Yeezy and Adidas staffers" have spoken out about an alleged "abusive office culture" that left many of them "fearing for their livelihoods."
According to multiple reports, the 'Gold Digger' hitmaker allegedly "played pornography to Yeezy staff in meetings; discussed porn and showed an intimate photograph of his former wife Kim Kardashian in job interviews; and showed an explicit video and photos of Kardashian as well as his own sex tapes to Yeezy team members."
The open letter titled 'The Truth About Yeezy: A Call to Action for Adidas Leadership' details the alleged appalling conditions in which staff members worked. The workers also accused Adidas leaders of lacking "responsibility, accountability, and protection" and "failed to provide their employees throughout what we experienced as years of verbal abuse, vulgar tirades, and bullying attacks."
"He has, in years past, exploded at women in the room with offensive remarks," it continued. "[He] would resort to sexually disturbing references when providing design feedback. This type of response from a brand partner is one that Adidas employees should never be subjected to, nor should Adidas leadership ever tolerate."
Other people that have been within his inner circle, people like Julia Fox, have spoken out against the 46-year-old too, stating that he displayed clear "red flags" throughout their brief romance.
Replying to a comment on TikTok back in 2022 she said: "First of all, the man was being normal around me. And not only that, when I had a fashion line ten years ago, they actually bought our clothes and sold them in their stores, so I've always had a love for [Kim Kardashian]."
"By the time me and [Ye] got together, he hadn't been doing anything 'out there' yet," she continued. "The only thing he had done was change the name in the song that said 'come back to me Kimberly.' That was the only thing when we met."
More recently, fans have been slamming West for his "controlling" behavior on Instagram, posting extremely risque images of his wife on the platform.
And that's only a brief overview of Ye's antics over the past few years, so it's no wonder he's "struggling to book venues."
Rolling Stone got some insight on the situation with one industry expert stating that even if West decided to make a comeback, none of the biggest concert promoters will take him on.
"It won’t be a Live Nation or an AEG, no," one industry executive, referencing the two biggest concert promoters. "I think he’ll be compelled to do something live at some point. He could go try and go to a venue directly, and put up the money himself. He would hire freelancers willing to work with him. Or if a promoter worked with him, it would be somebody desperately trying to buy some buzz and some market share."
A booker for a regional concert promoter that oversees several venues also added: "Whether or not it’s intended, by booking Kanye at this point in time, you’re endorsing his words... He needs to walk away from what he said before most venues would work with him."
