Emergency dispatch audio has revealed what happened to Presley Gerber shortly before he passed away.
It was announced on Sunday (September 20) that Presley, the only son of Cindy Crawford, had passed away at a rehab center after years of battling addiction.
Following his death, his supermodel mother Cindy, 60, father Rande Gerber, 64, and younger sister Kaia Gerber have asked for privacy.
Reports have suggested that Cindy is struggling to come to terms with his passing, as Page Six reported that she is “devastated” and “inconsolable”.
A source close to her told the publication: “They were so close. What you saw online and in the press wasn’t just for that purpose.
“They were a tight-knit family and [sister] Kaia and Presley were more than just siblings. Cindy has to be beyond gutted.”
Now, the entertainment outlet has obtained a 911 dispatch audio call.
The call revealed that the 27-year-old went into an emergency, as an automated voice saying “cardiac arrest” and “overdose” could be heard, as per Page Six.
It's said that the address provided also matched the California rehab center where Presley was in at the time.
An operator was heard upgrading the call, with a source from the scene revealing that police, ambulance, and firefighters responded.
It was also reported that following the incident, authorities were on the scene for three hours.
Reports have suggested that the male model's death could have been related to an overdose after Santa Monica Police Department officers were dispatched to a Santa Monica, California, rehab facility.
Presley checked in for treatment at the facility the same weekend he passed away.
He had been living with numerous people in a sober house on the grounds of the center in the Los Angeles area.
The publication says that Presley 'knew he needed help' when he checked in, with an insider explaining: “He had not been doing well,
“He’s always suffered from a huge lack of self-esteem and had trouble accepting his real self and feeling fully confident in who he was as a person.
“Energetically, he didn’t seem like himself,” adding that he “felt like he was lacking purpose in his life,” “hadn’t really found his place,” and “didn’t really know where he wanted to go and what he wanted to do.”
They claimed that after 'struggling' with many things, he wanted to be 'free of his addictions'.
Following Presley's death, his family released a joint statement, reading: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
His cause and manner of death are still pending, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Presley had long battled with substance abuse and mental health issues.
