Ray J sparked concerns among fans after he appeared to perform with blood streaming from his eyes.
The singer, 45, who recently told fans he only has months left to live after a series of health battles, was appearing in Shreveport, Louisiana, for an intimate Valentine’s Day concert.
In footage taken from the crowd, Ray J is seen wearing dark sunglasses as he hands out roses to people in the crowd.
As the camera zooms in to his face, a stream of liquid can be seen emerging from beneath his glasses, appearing to be the color of blood and coming from his eye area.
Footage quickly circulated online, leaving fans wondering if it was indeed blood or an unusual stage effect.
People commented: "is he bleeding," "Is that blood?", and: "What happen did he fall or something?"
Others added: "I think its fake blood dont stop running and stay in one stop ijs Ray J knows what he’s doing," (sic) and: "Maybe a rose thorn got him. It looks like he’s telling them “be careful” as he hands them out."
Ray J – real name William Ray Norwood Jr. – also appeared to have a medical bandage on his chest when he unzipped his jumpsuit for the crowd.
A backstage clip filmed by a friend showed him smiling at the camera afterward, reassuring them he was "fine" and telling them not to "laugh at [him] for being sick".
He added: "That’s not fair … don’t do that. Ain’t nobody sick. Look at me, I’m fine."
It comes after Ray J took to social media to tell his followers that he reportedly has less than a year left to live.
He said at the start of the year: "2027 is definitely a wrap for me," while waving his hand in front of his neck.
As a friend off camera replied: "No, don't say that brother," Ray J responded: "That's what the doctors say."
The friend then tried to reassure him that he will "live long to see your children grow up", to which Ray J clarified that the right side of his heart was "black… it’s like done.”
He revealed: "I f**ked up. I thought I could handle all the alcohol, I could handle all the Adderall, I could handle all the drugs, I could handle everything but I couldn’t.
"I f**ked up and it curved my time here. I f**ked up real bad."
He revealed that he would drink "four or five bottles a day" of alcohol while taking 10 Adderall tablets and feeling like he was "indestructible" until his health began failing.
Ray J also revealed that his parents were coming to take him to his next check-up and that his sister, singer Brandy, was "paying my bills for me for the rest of the year".
It came days after Ray J gave his followers an update on his health, telling them: "I want to thank everybody for praying for me, I was in the hospital.
"My heart is only beating like 25 percent but as long as I stay focused, and stay on the right path, then everything will be alright, so thank you for all your prayers."
