Selena Gomez has apologized after she was accused of throwing shade at the model wife of her former boyfriend, Justin Bieber.

The hoopla began when the 'Rare' hitmaker, 29, uploaded a silent skincare tutorial on TikTok. Some users on the app jumped to conclusions and claimed that because Hailey Bieber often posts skincare content on her own TikTok account, Gomez's post was an unkind parody of her content.

Gomez did not mention Hailey in the video - but decided to disable comments due to the negative reaction she received.

The former Disney star then apologized in a since-deleted comment on the video.

"This is why I believe in taking care of your mental health," Selena wrote, according to a screenshot shared by a Selena Gomez fan account. "Guys no idea what I did but I really am sorry. Zero bad intention. Deleting soon."

This comes after Hailey took to her own TikTok account recently to beg keyboard warriors to leave her alone.

In a post titled "This is for you guys in my comments every single time I post," Hailey stood up for herself after being targeted by trolls online.

"Leave me alone at this point," she began. "I'm minding my business. I don't do anything, I don't say anything. Leave me alone, please."

"Enough time has gone by where it's valid to leave me alone," Hailey added. "I beg of you, truly. That's my only request. Leave me alone. Be miserable somewhere else, please."

Last month, Gomez revealed in an interview with Good Morning America that she has not "been on the internet" in over four years.

She said: "I haven’t been on the internet in four and a half years. It has changed my life completely. I am happier, I am more present. I connect more with people. It makes me feel normal."

The 'Same Old Love' singer said elsewhere in the interview: "Growing up in the spotlight has definitely taught me so much. I can’t believe that I am where I am mentally just because how I took the necessary steps in order to kind of remove myself from that. Because it’s just not normal."
