A judge has ordered Shia LaBeouf to attend anger management classes and therapy in order to spare him any jail time.
The order stems from an alleged altercation between himself and a man named Tyler Murphy last summer in Los Angeles.
As a result of the incident, which turned physical after LaBeouf allegedly stole the man's hat, he was charged with two misdemeanors - petty theft and battery.
According to court documents, which were filed in September 2020, LaBeouf is accused of using "force and violence upon" a man in June 2020, before stealing and driving away with his hat, which is reportedly worth less than $950.
On Thursday, May 26, the Transformers star appeared in court and was told he must complete a judicial diversion program within a period of 12 months, E! News reports.
Following the program, the misdemeanor charges will be dropped and he will not have to spend any time behind bars.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office confirmed to the outlet that LaBeouf must complete at least one therapy session each week throughout the program.
The Honey Boy actor is also required to take anger management classes, wear a SoberLink device, and partake in random alcohol testing, in addition to a 12-step course to retain his sobriety.
The 34-year-old is not to use force or violence or to get a hold of any weapons. He has also been ordered to keep at least a 100 yard-distance from Murphy as well as a 100-yard distance from the area of the alleged incident and to avoid all contact with the victim.

LaBeouf is yet to publically comment on the charges - but is set to return to court in August later this year. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges in November.
News of the court-ordered anger management classes comes after LaBeouf became the center of a separate lawsuit, with his former girlfriend and singer FKA Twigs accusing the actor of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress.
She said in court documents obtained by Variety that she had suffered mental and physical abuse during their nine-month relationship. The musician also alleged that he knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease, strangled her, and kept her in a constant state of fear.
LaBeouf's lawyers have denied all of the allegations in the lawsuit.
