Tom Holland addressed Zendaya unfollowing him on Insta as she 'gets engaged' to Robert Pattinson in new post

Zendaya sent the internet into instant meltdown after she abruptly unfollowed boyfriend Tom Holland on Instagram. The social-media shakeup – part of a full wipe of her following list – sparked rampant speculation that Hollywood’s most beloved low-key couple might have quietly ended things.

Within minutes, fan pages lit up with panic.

“Whyyyy did Zendaya remove Tom from Instagram???? Mama miaaaa don't let it be…” one user begged.

Another feared: “Break up news is coming I fear,” while a third pleaded: “For the glory of my mother! Don’t scare me like that.”

But despite the frenzy, it didn’t take long for the Spider-Man actor to step in and set the record straight.

Tom Holland Shuts Down Breakup Rumors Immediately

TMZ caught up with Holland shortly after the speculation exploded. When a photographer asked bluntly: “Have you split up with Zendaya?” he answered without hesitation: “No, absolutely not.”

Just like that, Holland put a lid on the breakup rumors, telling fans that everything between him and Zendaya is still solid. According to sources close to the pair, Zendaya’s unfollow spree was simply a digital clean-up – not a relationship red flag.

Zendaya and Holland’s Private, Steady Relationship

Zendaya and Holland – who first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016 – have always kept their relationship intensely private despite global attention. Dating rumors swirled for years until they went public in 2021, and since then they’ve balanced fame with discretion.

Tom has regularly spoken about how grounding Zendaya is in his life. On the Dish from Waitrose podcast, he joked about maintaining professional boundaries on set – “Studios love it, one hotel room… kidding!”– before openly calling Zendaya “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Zendaya has echoed the sentiment, telling Vanity Fair that working with Tom feels “strangely comfortable” and calling him “so talented” and “so passionate about what he does.”

Confusion Deepens When Zendaya ‘Gets Engaged’

Just as fans were recovering from the unfollow incident, another surprise dropped: an engagement announcement in The Boston Globe showing Zendaya and co-star Robert Pattinson posing like a soon-to-wed couple.

The announcement looked shockingly legitimate – until readers noticed the fictional names Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson. It was actually a cleverly planted promotional stunt for The Drama, the pair’s upcoming A24 film, in which they play an engaged couple navigating a chaotic wedding week.

The faux newspaper notice doubled as the film’s poster and quickly went viral, even appearing in Zendaya’s own social-media posts.

Despite the swirl of half-truths, fan theories, and movie-promo confusion, Holland’s calm reassurance cut through the noise. Zendaya didn’t unfollow him over drama, and her 'engagement' to Pattinson exists only in the world of fiction.

For now, the couple remains firmly together – on screen, off screen, and unbothered by social-media panic.
