The reason why Brad Pitt is reportedly being sued by a high-end penis cream company has been revealed.
The Oscar-winning actor launched skincare company Le Domaine in 2022 alongside the renowned Perrin wine-making family, before rebranding the business as Beau Domaine last year.
But according to AirMail, the new name has sparked a lawsuit from Malibu-based skincare company Beau D.
They claim the F1 star's business is guilty of "trademark infringement, false designation of origin, and common-law unfair competition under California’s Business and Professions Code".
Beau D. was founded in 2020 by former Men's Vogue fashion editor Brandon Palas, two years before the Fight Club star entered the skincare market.
The outlet reports that Beau D. tried to reach a private settlement on three separate occasions before eventually filing legal action.
The company is reportedly seeking more than $75,000 in damages, as well as a "permanent injunction" that would prevent Pitt's company from using the Beau Domaine name and branding altogether.
"This isn’t about publicity or punishment," Palas told AirMail. "It’s about protecting the integrity of what we’ve spent years building and ensuring independent brands have the right to grow without being overshadowed or diluted."
At the time of reporting, Beau Domaine had not yet filed a formal legal response in court.
While Pitt's company sells a selection of skincare products such as cleansers, serums, and moisturisers, Beau D.'s range is much smaller.
The company currently offers just two products: a lip salve and its signature D. Cream, a product designed to be used on your manhood.
For anyone wondering exactly what the cream does, Palas explained that it can "help to bring plumpness to that skin, inspire collagen production, and slow down the process of aging".
The company's website states that the $56 cream will "put the power in your package" and contains "Dong Quai, Horny Goat Weed, and He Shou Wu, along with naturally nourishing extracts like Coral Weed, Ivy Gourd, and Eggplant Fruit".
The reported lawsuit arrives during a difficult period for the actor's personal life.
Per Daily Mail, his eldest son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 24, has filed to legally remove Pitt from his surname after previously dropping it informally earlier this year.
The move follows a similar decision by daughter Shiloh, who legally removed Pitt from her name last year after the actor's lengthy and highly publicised divorce from Angelina Jolie.
Sisters Zahara and Vivienne have also reportedly stopped using Pitt publicly and now go by Jolie.
