It would be safe to say that for the WWE superstar Paige, the past few years have been extremely tough. The wrestler was suspended from WWE in the aftermath of her sex tape being leaked, leading to her taking illegal drugs - something which is banned in the sport.

Appearing on Chasing Glory With Lilian Garcia, the 25-year-old went on to explain how she has struggled with mental illness since the leak, saying: "When they came out I barricaded myself in the house for a couple of months. I was so sad to the point I was contemplating suicide."

During the conversation surrounding the attention that she now receives, Paige recounted a particularly grim and upsetting encounter: "I was out yesterday with my friend," she said. "We were just sitting there having a Bloody Mary. This guy comes up to my friend and says, 'That's the porn star.'"

She then wept and added: "I cried in the toilet. I find it really hard to be close to anybody."

But that wasn't the worst of it. Things continued to go downhill for Paige and, due to the severity of her situation, she ended up being rushed to a hospital back in her homeland of England.

"I was on the floor, I was so low - I got so skinny I ended up collapsing with exhaustion in hospital in England," she recalled. "They told me at the time it was like stress-induced anorexia. I wasn't eating, I wasn't sleeping, I lost all my hair. I have clippings now, but I literally have no hair because my hair fell out. Because I was so stressed.

"It just broke my heart. I was like, 'Why would someone want to do that to someone?"'

However, towards the back end of 2017, Paige made her return to WWE. But, in an awful turn of events, the star then had to be pulled from a number of upcoming live shows due to a horrific neck injury. After being taken out by a kick from Sasha Banks, Paige was placed on a stretcher and it still hasn't been announced when she will be returning to the ring.

Now, though, Paige has made headlines for what she's been getting up to outside of the ring. Taking to the world of Instagram, the British wrestler showed off her latest tattoo and it's unlikely to go down with WWE. Tattooist Early Funk inked the words "Talk s**t, get bit" onto the sides of Paige's hands.

Despite the fact that it promotes violence, the sexualisation of women and patriarchy in all it's glory, the WWE is famously strict when it comes to swearing. The company calls itself family friendly, so may take a bit of an issue with the wording on Paige's hands.

Photos of her new ink were shared on Instagram and it's believed that Paige got the tattoo done in celebration of her opening "The Saraya Store" in Anaheim, California.

Whether the WWE have words with her or not, here's hoping that Paige has a much better 2018. No one deserves to have gone through the number of setbacks that she has.
