Christina Aguilera has voiced her support for Britney Spears following news of the singer's newfound freedom.
In November 2021, a judge put an end to the conservatorship that has controlled Britney's personal, professional and financial matters since 2008.
Her father Jamie Spears - who was also her conservator - pointed to her public mental health struggles as justification for the legal guardianship, and what was intended as a temporary arrangement was made permanent by the end of that year.

Now, Aguilera has finally voiced her support for the 'Toxic' hitmaker during an interview on Enrique Santos' morning show.
To conclude their chat, Santos took a moment to reflect on the singer’s time in the Mickey Mouse Club back in the early 1990s and asked if she had spoken to fellow alum Britney.
"I mean I would love to, I would always be open to that," Aguilera said. "It's a subject that I definitely want to be careful of because I'd never want to speak out of turn about somebody that I have so much respect and admiration for.
"But I'm so happy, I will just say what I do feel comfortable in saying, as I've said before actually and stated that I couldn't be happier for her."

Aguilera's comments are a far cry from her previous response to Britney's newfound freedom, after she was slammed by the singe herself for declining questions from reporters on the topic.
The 'Gimme More' hitmaker took to her Instagram Story to publicly shame the 'Genie In A Bottle' singer for "refusing to speak" about her historic win.
At the time, Britney wrote: "I love and adore everyone who supported me... but refusing to speak when you know the truth, is equivalent to a lie!!! 13 years being in a corrupt abusive system yet why is it such a hard topic for people to talk about??? I'm the one who went through it!!!!"

She added: "All the supporters who spoke up supported me thank you... Yes I do matter!!!!!"
Reporters were attempting to ask Aguilera if she's had contact with Britney since her conservatorship was terminated. As she was asked the questions, Aguilera glanced at a man over her shoulder.
"No, we're not doing that tonight, I'm sorry," the man said to reporters as he pulled the singer away.
"I can't, but I'm happy for her," Aguilera said as she turned to leave.
