Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni has gone viral for his emotional reaction during the national anthem at today's Super Bowl.

The Philadelphia team lost out to the Kansas City Chiefs (a team that Drake had bet almost $1 million to win) in Glendale, Arizona.

During the 29-minute half-time, Rihanna appeared in a highly-anticipated performance - marking her return to the stage after a five-year hiatus.

Country music legend Christ Stapleton took the stage earlier today to perform the national anthem alongside songwriter and record producer Babyface - bringing Sirianni and Eagles' center Jason Kelce to tears.

The 44-year-old country star - who hails from Kentucky - has written six number-one country songs, according to ASCAP, and was a member of both the SteelDrivers and the Jompson Brothers.

Stapleton's rendition clearly had an effect on the audience, and Sirianni's tearful reaction has since taken over Twitter, where he's already getting memed.

Sirianni tears up during the national anthem at the Super Bowl:

While some tweets were more genuine, like from this user, who wrote: "Proof that a coach was made for a city. THIS - all heart. Nick Sirianni, cries real tears during the National Anthem, the magnitude of this moment, clearly hitting him as we all watched."

Others took the opportunity to meme the moment, with another user adding: "Ordered three dozen wings and they only threw in one side of blue cheese."

"...he was thinking about Whitney Houston singing it," someone else quipped.

"Rihanna: come here rude boy boy can you get it up, come here rude boy boy is you big enough," another tweet read, obviously in reference to Rihanna's half-time show.

"Me knowing I have to go to work tomorrow," another relatable tweet read.

Sirianni's emotional reaction felt necessary, given that the 41-year-old is only in his second coaching season in the NFL. Under his lead, the Eagles played their second Super Bowl game in 11 years after Philadelphia beat Tom Brady and the England Patriots back in 2018, per The Daily Mail. That was the team's first Vince Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.

The Eagles were favored to win the competition, with 63.4% of experts interviewed by ESPN revealing the Philadelphia team had the upper hand this year. Not everyone felt the same, however, after rapper Drake placed close to $1 million on the opposing team Kansas City Chiefs to take home the prize.

And it turns out, Drake was right as the Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl LVII, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.
