Eva Mendes doesn't plan on joining Ryan Gosling for photographs for the upcoming Barbie movie, as the pair have only ever attended one red carpet event together.
As per Insider, 42-year-old Gosling and 49-year-old Mendes began dating in 2011 after they met around the time they starred in The Place Beyond The Pines together.
Despite both of them being high-profile celebrities, they have remained private about their relationship - with no official confirmation that they are married, but Mendes has referred to Gosling as her husband in the past.
Last week, the actress shared a clip of The Place Beyond The Pines on her Instagram with the caption: "Magic is Real. We did not meet on set. The magic started way before but here’s a little magic captured on camera. Gracias to the increíble director Derek Cianfrance."
One fan politely asked the star whether she would be attending any red-carpet events for Barbie with Gosling, and Mendes confirmed that this won't be happening.
"We don’t do those things together," she penned. "Like these photos I’ve been posting, I'm only comfortable posting because it’s already out there."
Though she did correct herself: "Oh wait [...] for those who may catch me in a “lie” [...] we only were on the red carpet together once when promoting this film."
Mendes was questioned on whether she could clarify her comments, to which she replied: "By 'not comfortable', I mean exposing our very private life that we value. I’m still dying to do another movie with him though…"
The couple has two children together who were born in 2014 and 2016, which sparked Mendes to take a step away from acting to raise the children.
The mother of two spoke to Forbes last summer and gave an insight into how she and her husband are raising their children.
"I’m not an amazing cook - I leave that to Ryan," Mendes said. "Hopefully it’s showing my girls that there are no gender-specific roles that one must take on and that we are partners in this and that we’re all partners in this, not just Ryan and I, but our children as well."
The Hitch star continued: "If they see him and I switching off doing certain things that, again, aren’t specific to stereotypical gender things, I think that just creates balance and harmony."
We may not see the couple hit the red carpet together anytime soon, but it sounds like they are absolutely nailing it as parents!
