Machine Gun Kelly has shocked fans by giving them a bizarre glimpse at what he'd look like without his trademark tattoos.

The rapper took to Instagram to share a snap of himself with all his ink covered up by cosmetics, as he is currently filming his new movie, Good Mourning.

Co-written and co-directed by Kelly and his pal Mod Sun, Good Mourning follows fictional actor London Clash (Kelly) whose life spirals out of control after he receives a text that he thinks means his girlfriend is about to break up with him.

Alongside Mod Sun and MGK, the 'stoner-comedy' has a star-studded cast including the likes of Pete Davidson, Dove Cameron, Amber Rose, and Kelly's fiancée Megan Fox.

Since it hit movie theaters on Friday (May 20) MGK - real name Colson Baker - has taken to social media to promote the movie by giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at how he prepared for his role.

"I did 5 whole sit-ups (and 200 blunts) to prep for my role in Good Mourning," he wrote, alongside a snap of himself completely naked and stripped of his tattoos.

Unsurprisingly, it was the rapper's lack of ink rather than his fitness regime that caught fans' attention. Many took to the comments section to talk about how odd he looked with a totally clear complexion.

"LMFAO it was so weird seeing u without tattoos," one wrote, while another added: "You look extra naked without the tattoos."

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Mod Sun and MGK revealed that they were inspired to write the movie when - early in their relationship - Fox sent Kelly a message that he interpreted as a break-up text.

"He started spiraling and he hit me up and he’s like, 'Yo, I just need to keep my mind off this, I don’t know what's going on, I can’t tell if we’re breaking up or we’re done. Let’s write a movie about it,'" Mod Sun recalled.

"And me, I was just being a really good friend, so I was like, 'Yeah dude, whatever to keep your mind off this,'" he added.
