The live-action remake of The Little Mermaid is still a couple of years away from hitting movie theaters, but we've just started to hear some news about what it may entail. First of all, we know that Into The Woods and Mary Poppins Returns director Rob Marshall will be helming the project and that Lin-Manuel Miranda will be involved in the soundtrack.

Bailey, best known for her role in Grown-ish and as one half of R&B duo Chloe x Halle, shared the news of her casting on Twitter:
Beyond that, no casting news has been set in stone. Terry Crews is doing the Twitter rounds to try and convince everyone he's the best choice to play King Triton, and there have been rumors that Melissa McCarthy would be involved.
Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina have been in talks to star in the update of the 1989 classic, while McCarthy is reportedly up for the role of Ursula. But once the casting news came in, the internet got carried away, and, well, we ended up with this...
I'm not going to lie, there's certainly some resemblance there, and the post got its fair share of reactions from the Twitter crowd:

That's right, seemingly deciding that life is indeed better down where it's wetter, Fieri retweeted Corona's original post, adding a caption that featured lyrics from The Little Mermaid banger, 'Under the Sea'.
