In a casting announcement that sent shockwaves across the Potterverse, the new leads have been revealed.

Dominic McLaughlin will take on the role of the Boy Who Lived, Arabella Stanton will play the brilliant Hermione, and Alastair Stout will become the lovable Ron Weasley.

Even J.K. Rowling gave her stamp of approval. After a fan tweeted her with excitement, she replied: “All three are wonderful. I couldn’t be happier.”

The young actors will have some big shoes to fill after the memorable performances of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

The three new stars are mostly unknowns to global audiences — for now.

Dominic McLaughlin is set to appear in the upcoming Sky movie Grow, starring alongside Golda Rosheuvel and Nick Frost, who, incidentally, will play Hagrid in the Harry Potter TV series.

The film is slated for a 2025 release.

Arabella Stanton is no stranger to the stage, having starred as Matilda in Matilda the Musical and as Control in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express.

As for Alastair Stout, his credits include an advertising campaign in which he was listed as “son at dinner.”

Beyond the fame, there’s serious fortune in store for the young actors.

According to brand expert Nick Ede: “Daniel Radcliffe was paid £1 million for his first film and that went up to £50 million for the last two. It’s not just the financial gain but the global fame will also bring endorsements and deals for them," per Hello!

He continued: “I can imagine them at least being paid £1 million per series to begin with and then you could even see them commanding £10 to £20 million each by the end of the seventh season – or even more.”

Ede added: “Dominic, Arabella, and Alastair had hit the jackpot.”

The HBO reboot will cover all seven of Rowling’s books over a 10-year series, with each season set to delve deeper into the wizarding world than ever before.

The cast is already filling with big names. Jon Lithgow is set to play Albus Dumbledore. Nick Frost will take on Rubeus Hagrid.

Paapa Essiedu has been cast as Severus Snape, and Janet McTeer will bring Minerva McGonagall to life.

Behind the scenes, the project is helmed by an impressive team. Executive producers include Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman, who produced the original films.

Showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner (Succession, His Dark Materials) is writing the series, while Emmy-winner Mark Mylod (Succession, Game of Thrones) is directing multiple episodes and also serving as executive producer.
