Many viewers have been left on the edge of their seats after watching a 2022 horror flick, Huesera: The Bone Woman.
The Mexican film - which was released last year and shown in theatres last month - tells the story of a woman who has long dreamed of being a mother.
When Valeria - played by actress Natalia Solián - becomes pregnant, her dream of motherhood quickly turns into a nightmare after a supernatural entity curses her.
The trailer shows that after she finds out about her new bundle of joy, she tells an older woman that she is "delighted," however that same lady says to her: "Funny, you're not a kid person."
She is later seen constantly cracking her back and knuckles, with someone telling her: "Valeria, stop cracking your fingers. They'll end up all crooked."
And as danger closes in, Valeria is pushed deeper into a haunting world of dark magic that seeks to destroy her, with a female voice telling her: "What is happening to you is quite normal."
"When you become a mother, you feel like you are split in two. And wait for labor time. You literally feel like your bones are breaking," she added.
The haunting movie has left many people to share their awe-struck reactions on social media, with one person writing: "Huesera: The Bone Woman (2022) A movie I absolutely love for what it's saying and how it communicates it.
"I can't watch this ever again though, holy f*** at times I felt like I couldn't breathe... I feel like my hair's gone gray just from watching this. 7.0," they added.
Another equally stunned user said: "Huesera: The Bone Woman is a tense, uncomfortable, and BRILLIANT debut from Michelle Garza Cervera. A deeply unsettling story that’s lifted to the clouds (or dropped into hell) by a fantastic performance from Natalia Solián. I need to explore Mexican horror more, holy s***."
A third person reviewed: "Huesera: The Bone Woman was SO GOOD. The sound design? Haunting. There's especially one night scene I won’t be forgetting thanks for that."
A fourth user expressed: "Being pregnant is truly frightening and horrific. HUESERA: THE BONE WOMAN takes this idea to its most (un)natural conclusion, to wonderfully gruesome and thought-provoking effect. "
And, one last stressed-out person remarked: "Finally got my hands on Huesera: The Bone Woman. That movie is pure anxiety, I can't take it lmao."
The horror movie was released in US cinemas in February and has an approval rating of 99% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes and a 69% audience score.
Along with main star Solián, the film also features Alfonso Dosal as her husband Raul, and Aída López as her mother.
The chilling flick was directed and co-written by Michelle Garza Cervera in her feature film debut.
