Festive fans, rejoice! Because Netflix has finally dropped the first trailer for The Christmas Chronicles 2 - the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 Yuletide flick.
That's right, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are back as Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the first-look at the movie has put me right in the mood for some eggnog.
Check out the first magical trailer below:

Writing on the official Netflix Film Twitter account, the streaming giants said: "It's time for Mrs. Claus to get her due.
"Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn are back to save the holidays in THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES 2, only on Netflix 25 November."
Unlike the first instalment, which was directed by Clay Kaytis, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone director Chris Columbus has taken the helm.
And in an interview with People, Columbus revealed what it was like working with the real-life Hollywood sweethearts, Russell and Hawn.
Describing the experience as "really, really fun", he said: "There’s a tremendous amount of respect there and a tremendous amount of love and trust, partially because they’ve been together for so long.
"They just get along beautifully. There’s a lot of laughter and it’s just a really, really fun set."
Other stars in the movie include Julian Dennison, who will be reprising the role of Belsnickel, and Jahzir Bruno as Jack.
As reported by The Business Insider, Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos revealed that the first movie received 20 million views in its first week.
He added: "If every one of those was a movie ticket purchase, that's a $200 million opening week. Even movies that go on to $1 billion don't typically do that in the first week."
And yes, you read that correct: the movie will be available to stream on November 25! Maybe the end of 2020 won't be as bad the start.

Christmas is the perfect time of year to exchange gifts, stuff yourself with food and drink, and curl up in front of the fire to binge-watch some movies.
And if you need a film to really get you in the Christmas spirit, I have good news for you, because the sequel to the wildly-popular movie Christmas Chronicles has just dropped on Netflix today.
Starring real-life celebrity couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, the 2018 original movie told the story of Teddy and Kate Pierce (played by Judah Lewis and Darby Camp), two young siblings who haven't been getting along since their father's death.
However, one Christmas Santa Claus himself (played by Guardians of the Galaxy and Escape From New York star Kurt Russell) arrives in his sleigh and whisks the two kids away on an adventure to reignite their love of the holidays again.
Take a look at the trailer for Christmas Chronicles 2 in the video below:

Per a recent review by Deadline, the sequel sees Kate and Teddy on holiday with their mom and her new boyfriend in Cancun, and are embroiled in another adventure to save Christmas when Belsnickel, a human-hating elf, captures the immortal "Christmas Star" in a bid to wreak total havoc upon the North Pole.

For instance, one Twitter user wrote: "My boys loved the Christmas Chronicles. This would be the perfect set to enjoy number 2 with! [sic]"
Meanwhile, someone else added: "Just watched this and I absolutely loved it. Christmas Chronicles 1&2 superb. [sic]"

There's nothing quite like a Christmas film on a dark, cold night in December, is there?
When the winter nights draw in and the ground becomes frozen and snow-swept, rather than head out for a night on the tiles, many of us choose to remain indoors in the warm, and chow down on some serious festive fun.
Netflix have certainly done their bit to enable this noble tradition this year; their festive film lineup is extensive, and some of their specially made Christmas movies look really great:
[[jwplayerwidget||https://content.jwplatform.com/videos/dW76AWY9-Q0L14jDU.mp4||dW76AWY9]]
Yet fans have been clamouring for the return of an instant Christmas classic since it debuted last year on Netflix. The Christmas Chronicles was a hit with movie fans everywhere.
The film has a respectable 64% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the site summing up the movie thus;
"Viewers seeking a fresh holiday viewing option -- or those simply in the mood for Santa Kurt Russell -- should find The Christmas Chronicles well worth a yuletide stream."
If you never seen it, take a look at the trailer for The Christmas Chronicles:

And much of the praise centres on Kurt Russell as Santa, so fans of the movie will be delighted to learn that, not only are we getting a second Christmas Chronicles movie, but that Russell will be reprising his role.
Netflix took to Twitter to confirm the good news, writing simply, "The Christmas Chronicles 2, coming next holiday season".
[[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/seewhatsnext/status/1202982958455328768]]
And fans were quick to comment their delight. One wrote, "I was just thinking about a sequel. This is awesome. I can't wait", while another added "My grandkids and I love this movie and have watched it over and over again this whole year! Can't wait for the sequel and hope there are even more to come!!"
Chris Columbus, who produced the first movie, will be stepping into the helm to direct the sequel. Christmas Chronicles 2 will be available to watch next holiday season.

Let's be honest, there hasn't been an awful lot to look forward to this year, has there?
Rather than an optimistic year filled with personal progress, sunny holidays and happy memories, 2020 has resembled something of a low watermark for all of the above.
Yes, as the world continues to battle with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic optimism has, at times, been hard to come by.
Yet we are now approaching a time of year when the holidays come thick and fast: before you know it, Halloween will be upon us and from there it's just a short hop, skip and a jump until Christmas rolls around.

And in the spirit of festive fun, Netflix has announced a dazzling array of new Christmas movies are on their way to brighten up your year and keep you entertained as the weather turns colder.
Yes, the streaming service has shared a look at its slate of upcoming Christmas movies, and it's got fans gearing up for the festive season already.
First up comes the imaginatively titled Holidate, starring Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey.
The pair play friends who, frustrated by their families' fixation with their single status, decide to be each other's dates to all holiday events throughout the year. They make a pact to remain platonic, but, dear reader, I think we all know the direction this one's heading in...

Holidate premiers October 28.
Next comes Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square. Christine Baranski plays a wealthy, cantankerous woman who resolves to sell the land of her hometown to a mall developer following her husbands death. Will she have a change of heart in time for Christmas?
Sadly there's no trailer yet, but Dolly Parton is involved so expect a rip-roaring soundtrack. Premiers November 22.

Following that up, comes Jingle Jangle: A Christmas journey, which frankly deserves an Oscar just for pulling off the tricky skill of using alliteration with the letter 'J'.
Jeronicus Jangle, eccentric toymaker and further proponent of 'J'-based aliteration and his granddaughter Journey are working on an invention that could change their lives. Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, Anika Noni Rose and Phylicia Rashad star, and the soundtrack features music written by John Legend.

Premiers November 13.
Finally, we have The Christmas Chronicles 2. Yes, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are back to star in the sequel, which follows a now-teenage Katie reuniting with Santa Claus to stop a n'er-do-well from canceling Christmas.

While there, Kate learns to enjoy life again and begins to fall for Derek as well.
