2023's most acclaimed scream-fest is now just a click away on Netflix. Talk To Me, a spine-chilling Australian cinematic wonder, has captured the imagination of both critics and audiences and with the added accessibility, it's poised to spread its eerie spell worldwide.

Credited with a 'final shot for the ages', this dark tale finds its origins down under, weaving its suspenseful narrative with skill and craft. For those unfamiliar with the chilling plot, Talk To Me dives deep into the arcane, trailing a group of friends who stumble upon an embalmed hand.

This eerie artifact holds the unsettling power to summon spirits. But as can be expected, the story takes a harrowing turn when the group, entranced by their newfound supernatural prowess, unwittingly lets loose a barrage of malevolent forces.

Talk To Me notably showcases its homage to classic 80s horror, with remarkable practical effects and insightful 'social commentary about teenage behaviors' that have particularly caught the critics' attention.

The film marks the directorial debut of the Philippou brothers, Danny and Michael, whose adept handling of the genre suggests they're no strangers to the world of horror and suspense. Their unique approach has led some experts to predict that Talk To Me might be on its way to acquiring a cult following.

Before taking the world by storm with their feature-length horror venture, the Philippou brothers had already been engaging audiences, albeit on a different platform - YouTube.

In a candid chat, Danny Philippou shed light on their journey: "YouTube was a practice ground for us as filmmakers... Each of those videos was building up to finally taking that leap and doing the feature film." Michael added, emphasizing their evolving passion, "Now, with story and stuff, we're excited to take a leap and have a go at the more narrative-driven stuff."

The accolades haven't been scarce. Rotten Tomatoes showcases a whopping 94 percent approval from critics, and an impressive 82 percent audience score. Fans are even calling Talk To Me the "horror movie of the decade."

For those in the UK, the terror of Talk To Me can now be experienced from the very sanctity of their homes, courtesy of Netflix.

But that's not where the story ends. A24, the studio behind this masterpiece, has given the green light to a sequel, intriguingly titled Talk 2 Me. Fans will be elated to know that the Philippou brothers will be back in the director's chair, ensuring another round of petrifying adventures.

So, if horror is your genre of choice, Talk To Me is unmissable. And with the promise of a sequel, this Australian horror phenomenon seems set to dominate the scene for years to come.
