Netflix viewers have been left terrified and on the edge of their seats after watching the horror movie Evil Dead Rise.
The creepy flick - which was released in cinemas back in April this year - arrived on the streaming service on Thursday (September 21) and is already described as the "scariest movie" on the platform.
Written and directed by Lee Cronin, the flick is produced by the director of the original Evil Dead comedy horror film franchise, Sam Raimi.
The plot follows a family - who after uncovering a strange book hidden beneath their Los Angeles apartment building - gets preyed upon by a demonic spirit hellbent on obliterating everything in its path.

Many viewers who were stunned by the horror actually took to the social media app X to share their awe-struck reactions.
One user wrote that Evil Dead Rise was "by far the scariest movie I have ever seen," while another chimed in: "Just watched Evil Dead Rise and can confirm I will never sleep ever again."
A third person also shared their review, writing that the spectacle is "easily the scariest film" they have ever seen, adding: "Don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight."
A fourth user applauded: "Evil Dead Rise is so good. So damn good."
Evil Dead Rise is also popular with critics, scoring a commendable 84 percent rating on the Tomatometer.
Reviewer Hanna Flint for Time Out gave the movie a rating of 4/5 and penned: "Evil Dead Rise is not for the faint-hearted but for long-time fans and horror nuts, just sit back and let the blood wash over you."
Clarisse Loughrey for the Independent also gave the film a similar rating and said: "Evil Dead Rise provides blood by the bucketful without ever crossing the line into outright cruelty. It’s one thing to corral together a few hot, young scream queens and kings to dissect on screen, quite another to show a possessed mother tormenting her own children."
Lastly, Donald Clarke for Irish Times said the movie is "rip-roaring entertainment that captures the tone of the first two classics while finding new veins to messily drain," adding: "Evil Dead Rises is not quite so unambiguously comic as that early work, but Cronin never forgets we are here to have a bloody good time."
Make sure to watch Evil Dead Rise as it is now available to stream on Netflix!
