Netflix's new show has skyrocketed to the top of the streaming service with a staggering 3.4 billion minutes watched in its first week.

The limited series follows the story of Amelia Sacks (portrayed by Eve Hewson), who is on the brink of marrying into one of Nantucket's richest families, the Winburys, led by the author Greer Garrison Winbury (played by Kidman).

However, the celebrations take a dark turn when a dead body is discovered on the beach on the morning of the wedding. This leads to a police investigation that unravels terrifying secrets about Greer, her husband Tag (Liev Schreiber), and the rest of the family.

While the series currently has a score of 61 percent on the review-aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, it scored a whopping 3.4 billion minutes viewed from September 6-12 - proving how popular it was with its audience, per Variety.

It is now the first Netflix series to surpass 3 billion minutes since the second part of Bridgerton season three aired in June.

Many viewers have taken to their social media to gush about the new show. "The perfect couple got me hooked. Love a good mystery series," one fan shared on the platform X.

"I loved ‘The Perfect Couple’ on Netflix! It featured one of the best casts I've seen this year. While it was a bit frustrating trying to figure out who killed a particular character, the suspense was definitely worth the wait," a second fan said.

A third added: "#ThePerfectCouple is an absolute banger from Netflix! It’s so bingeable and a perfect Nicole Kidman-run series."

"Fun, a vibe, got to figure out a whole seaside murder with a f***ed up family vibe. Even the intro is a fun vibe we haven’t seen in a minute! A+ for Netflix," they concluded.

The Perfect Couple also stars Billy Howle, Dakota Fanning, Meghann Fahy, Ishaan Khattar, Jack Reynor, Sam Nivola, and Isabelle Adjani.

The unmissable show was branded "perverted" by cast members during the London premiere. Schreiber told British outlet Express: "There is a really healthy dose of perversity... Some of the most inappropriate and wonderful choices that I've ever seen a director make."

Meanwhile, Kidman expressed her appreciation for the "amazing ensemble" she worked with, sharing: “When you talk about acting together ‒ we all worked together to create this."

"It’s underrated, I stepped in to be part of an ensemble. And I’m so grateful for everyone who was there working," she added.
