The CEO of Warner Bros. has hinted that Harry Potter fans could be seeing more movies released sometime in the future.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, WarnerMedia Chief Jason Kilar told Warner Bros. studio investors at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecommunications Conference that audiences could be returning to the Wizarding World at a later date.
Per THR, Kilar stated:
Take a look at the original trailer for the first Harry Potter in the video below:"There's this little thing called Harry Potter, which is one of the most beloved franchises. And we're incredibly thankful to be able to partner with J.K. Rowling and so I would argue there's a lot of fun and potential there as well."
A separate report by The Hollywood Reporter claims that a Harry Potter live-action TV series is in early development at HBO Max, with insider sources allegedly telling the publication that Warner executives have had many conversations with potential writers about bringing the franchise to television in some form.
This story comes not long after actor Tom Felton, who portrayed the character of Draco Malfoy in all of the Harry Potter movies, hosted a watch-along video on Instagram Live, in which he invited fans to watch the first 11 minutes and 11 seconds of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone with him.
Watch this incredible video of a Harry Potter fan who can remember the entire series, word-perfect:Felton, who has reportedly not watched the first movie in the film franchise in over 20 years, was moved to tears by the experience during the iconic sequence in which a baby Harry Potter is left on the Dursley's doorstep by Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, played by Richard Harris.
Felton can be heard stating: "I have literally not seen this for probably 20 years. Look at him! Good lord! His voice – he's so sweet! He's like 5 years old.
"I'm just tearing up rather than giving you commentary but it will get better. I think the best is yet to come in these movies! We're definitely going to try this again."
Felton later hosted a reunion with fellow cast members including Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint to celebrate the movie's 19th anniversary.
