Flo Rida has shared a statement asking for "prayers" after his six-year-old son fell out of the window of a fifth-floor apartment.

The 43-year-old 'Low' rapper's son, Zohar Paxton Dillard, whom he shares with Alexis Adams, was taken to the hospital on March 4 in critical condition.

The child - who was born with a rare neurological disorder - is said to have suffered serious injuries after landing on concrete below the family’s fifth-floor apartment in New Jersey.

Zohar is in the Intensive Care Unit recovering from several injuries, including left metatarsal fractures, multiple pelvis fractures, internal bleeding, grade three liver laceration, and collapsed lungs, as reported by The Independent.

The 'Right Round' hitmaker took to his Instagram page yesterday (March 30) to share a statement with his followers, writing: "Great day, thank you to everyone who reached out with their concerns and prayers for my son."

"He is getting the best medical care and miraculously survived a tragic fall. I ask for your continued prayers as he undergoes rehabilitation but I appreciate that this remains a private matter," he added.

On March 27, the mother of the child filed a lawsuit to the Superior Court of New Jersey, suing her apartment's management company for negligence in Zohar's accident.

In the filing - obtained by Page Six - Adams contended that the windows in the apartment were in "a hazardous condition," that led to her son plunging out onto the hard pavement below.

She has named the owners and managers of her complex building, the construction company, a window installation company, and other defendants.

According to People Magazine, the mom's attorney, Steven P Haddad, requested a new trial jury claiming that the managers need to be held accountable for preserving the building "in a negligent, careless and reckless manner creating foreseeable and dangerous conditions".

He alleged that they installed "incorrect sized guards" on the windows, "even though these windows were on a fifth (5th) floor story apartment, thereby breaching their duty of care".

Adams is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages for her son's current and future medical bills, legal fees, and any lasting and future physical and mental pain and suffering.

Zohar was born in September 2016 and has lived with hydrocephalus since birth, which is an "abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within cavities of the brain called ventricles, resulting in pressure on the brain," per the Hydrocephalus Association.

The mother has shared a written statement with News 12 New Jersey about the devastating incident, which reads: "As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces."

"I am devastated, angry, and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to willful negligence of our landlord and others involved In failing to take necessary safety measures," she continued.

"It is devastating to see my child go through such pain and trauma, knowing that this could have been prevented. My son could have died! I wish I could take away his pain," she continued, as cited by People.

"My repeated written requests for window guards went ignored. The absence of appropriate window safeguards has resulted in a life-altering incident for my family."

"My son's life will never be the same, and I hope that no other family has to go through a similar tragedy. I am just so grateful that my son is alive, fighting, and is still here with me. He's a real-life superhero," she added.

Adams previously said the Grammy nominee has had no involvement in Zohar’s life. Back in 2018, she claimed to the Daily Mail that he only saw Zohar once during the paternity test, adding: "They were in the same room. He didn’t try to hug Zohar, nothing. It was very cold."

Our thoughts are with Zohar at this time.
