It seems the Hailey Bieber-Justin Bieber-Selena Gomez situation is very far from over.
Last week things between the trio took a dramatic turn when Selena surpassed Kylie Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram, amassing a whopping 391 million followers compared to Kylie's 379 million.
Following this, Selena, 30, made a seemingly innocent video about how she accidentally laminated her eyebrows too much, and mere hours later Kylie was accused of mocking her by posting pictures of her and Hailey's eyebrows. Fans accused Kylie and Hailey of shading the Disney Channel star out of spite due to her growing follower count, something the pair have since denied.
"This is a reach," Kylie commented on social media before adding: "No shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."
The awkwardness between Hailey, Justin, and Selena has been going on since 201, when Justin and Hailey began dating and eventually got engaged. Earlier that year, Justin and Selena had been dating again, having been on and off since 2011. Fans of the former couple - Jelena, as they were affectionately known - have done nothing to help the situation, having constantly pitted Hailey and Selena against each other for years.
Unsubstantiated rumors were even swirling that Justin had apparently been unfaithful to Selena behind her back, cheating on her with Hailey - something that has been the subject of multiple tweets over the years, like this one that reads: "no one: justin: god made me cheat on selena and hurt her so that i could marry hailey who is the love of my life."
Anyway, this week's drama didn't end with the eyebrows (keep up!). Selena ended up defending her bestie Taylor Swift when an old video of Hailey pretending to poke fun at her five years ago resurfaced on TikTok. Hailey was mercilessly trolled following the incident, causing Selena to announce that she would be taking a break from social media. All was done and dusted... Or so we thought.
With drama being, well, drama, Hailey is still receiving a ton of hate from Instagram users - even her birthday post for her hubby Justin wasn't exempt.
"29 never looked so good [...] Happy Birthday to you best friend! Words couldn't possibly sum up all that you embody. So here's to more joy, more travel, yummy food, adventures, more peace, fun, and most of all more love," the 26-year-old wrote on Instagram.
Sadly for Hailey, the post was met with an onslaught of comments - including remarks from users writing that they were #teamselena, that they would be unfollowing Hailey, and even asking Justin to "blink twice" if he needed help. Yikes...
The set of images - which include snaps of the husband and wife together - has already received close to 100,000 comments, the bulk of which are rather negative.
Let's just hope fans can give everyone a break and focus on something else for a change - after all, even this drama is getting tired.
