Influencer Elena Huelva has sadly passed away aged just 20 years old following a battle with cancer.
The influencer was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewing sarcoma in 2016 and chronicled her fight against the disease via her Instagram page where she amassed over 950,000 followers.
Earlier this month Elena was informed by doctors that her condition had worsened and had made its way to her throat, leaving the influencer struggling to breathe.
Elena had posted a heartbreaking video on her Instagram page where she said her final farewells after admitting things "were not going well."
"They found more disease in my windpipe, which is very dangerous, as you know because that's where we breathe. I don't need to say much more," she said, translated from Spanish to English.
As reported by the Daily Mail, despite her worsening condition, Elena was able to spend Christmas at home surrounded by her family.
On Sunday the influencer shared what would be her final post of her holding a loved ones' hands with the caption: "Today I woke up not in the best way, in fact, nothing good, a big scare.
"These are very difficult days, they are becoming more and more complicated, but as you know I am stronger and more complicated!
"I want you to know that I already won, a long time ago. We continue, always," before signing off with the title of her book 'My Desires Win.'
Elena passed away on Tuesday (January 3) as confirmed by a family member posting an image on her Instagram story, telling her followers: "Since this morning, Elena dances and looks down at you from her star. Thank you for everything."
Many of Elena's followers were in constant awe at her positive attitude toward life despite facing difficult circumstances since her diagnosis in 2016.
Since the news of her passing, her followers have penned their condolences, with one person saying: "You will always be unstoppable. A big hug to heaven and to all Elena's family and friends."
A second person said: "You were a being of light on earth and you will be the star that shines the brightest in the sky."
Elena touched many lives during her fight against the awful disease, and her outlook on life will always be what she is remembered for.
